I’m a liberal, and I agree. Some people genuinely like the guy.
now, I don’t like or respect people that do, but that’s America! They exist, I exist, and we all have to get along.
As a side note, I wonder what I’d do if I found myself with a White House invitation while trump is in office, or if I did something to get the Presidential Medal of Freedom. How impolite would it be to not go? And can I get my medal by mail?
sigh this weak shit? I’ll tell ya what there skippy… find me any political entity, municipality, state or nation that defines majority as “the most votes” and I’ll conceded you have a point. Doing that, you ought to go over the parts of the definition that you overlooked:
See how that phrase “more than half” keeps coming up? It’s because that’s what majority always means when counting votes. Senate majority, house majority all mean more than half, by definition, and a plurality means less than half. Hillary won a PLURALITY of votes cast.
Which ought to count for something, I agree, but it doesn’t help to pretend an electoral plurality is an electoral majority. Get back to us when you find some definition of ‘electoral majority’ that is defined as ‘more votes.’
For me, I always assume athletes and soldiers are republicans.
On your dichotomy: I don’t think it’s projection. I think it’s a result of more than a century of liberalization and settled law and customs about so many things. Trump is threatening to turn a lot of things back, not even because he believes it but because he’s a troll who’s going to throw bombs and get attention. If you are going to come out opposing a century of things we kind of decided as a society were priorities over the last 100 years you will probably have to be wary of your audience.
I’m talking about whether there should be an EPA, whether climate change exists, drugs, sexuality, race, reproduction, education, income inequality… and yes whether someone like Hillary Clinton is really “EVIL!” incarnate above other politicians.
If you’re wrong about something, or on the wrong side of history, you might be pushed back at. Why wouldn’t you (If that is what is happening)?
Trump didn’t do as well as Romney or McCain. Also Veterans are generally older than the general voting population. A lot older. Vietnam vets make up the lion’s share of veterans/military demographic. Once you correct for that (as well as geographic differences, I bet the differences aren’t, I doubt the gap is as significant as it might first appear.
Ummmm because he’s NOT a hero? Not by any stretch of the imagination? He’s just a big fat orange pig who somehow fell into the White House. Before that, he was a big fat orange pig who never made an honest deal in his life. Hero? WTF.
I didn’t see the game, but perhaps some of you did, and could answer a question for me. Were touchdowns scored during the game met with a similar hero’s welcome? Long pass receptions? First downs?
People seem to forget that nowadays there is a huge number of black and hispanic soldiers in the military as well as white. When I was in we at times had quite lively debates in the motor pool about politics with the older white sergeants tending to be old school conservatives but a good portion of younger minority soldiers were more left leaning, supportive of Obama, etc. I will say that there were more republican or conservative minorities that I saw in the military than the political leanings of minorities in the general population but I think sometimes people forget about the huge number of minorities that are in the military so even though it is and has been traditionally a large republican or conservative voting bloc I don’t think it is static and there is probably a smaller but still significant number of soldiers, especially the younger minority ones that don’t fit that bill.
Ummm…no. He is the President-elect of the United States. You can either put on your big girl panties and deal with that, or you can continue to whine like a broke-dick dog. Your choice, snowflake.
So, being president or president elect makes one a hero?
Why were you not singing praises to Obama when he was your hero?
ETA: I know you are not going to answer that, as you are a stupid little hypocrite that thinks he scores points with your inane posts and never comes back to defend them, but I always hold out hope that one day you (and all your ilk) will grow up and act like a reasonable human being for once.
