Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

Piffle, as I showed to you then many of those anti GMO groups do boast that conservatives are supporting them too. But you do forget things like that that can hurt your narrative.

If you don’t vote for Trump, he will never forgive you.

From now on, everything the guy says is going to have an implied ‘LOL! JK! :p’ at the end of it.

I think I will be able to live with myself.

The major difference being, liberals punch up (Monsanto, nuclear power companies) and Republicans punch down (immigrants, minorities, women).

So Pence has said he is going to release his tax returns, and both Clinton and Kaine have already done so. Pence releasing his returns is only going to make it more unusual that Trump refuses to release his, making him the sole odd man out.

It’s hard to imagine that Trump wanted Pence to do this, there seems to be very little coordinating between Trump and Pence to set any kind of consistent messaging between them. I can well imagine that some time Pence will try to disavow something Trump has said and Trump will rebuke him in public and contradict him. I can’t imagine that Trump and Pence are going to last until election day without at least one public shitfight between them.

A websearch will show you almost universal agreement that there are differences, not only in structure, but also in ‘chemistry’, between people who identify themselves as Liberal and those choosing Conservative.

Not only are we pre-wired, but we have great difficulty changing our orientation. Sorta like… So, when you and I argue about philosophical differences, neither of us is ever going to change. The arguments are for entertainment purposes and to help young folks make up their minds and get fired up.
Nuclear power question. Not all Liberals think nuclear power is not a valid environmentally clean option. We do think, though, that managing the waste products is far more challenging than with solar, wave and wind power. Well, except for all the worn out storage batteries…

This is getting off topic but one of the things that makes managing nuclear waste so challenging is the extreme over reactions and misunderstanding of anything nuclear. No one will allow nuclear waste to be carried through their own backyard or wants a nuclear waste storage facility near them, even if it’s in the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile coal power plants store massive piles of fly-ash in the open, which emits far more radiation than is ever allowed to escape from a nuclear plant.

(another liberal greenie who’s in favour of nuclear power, as part of a solution to phasing out fossil fuels as quickly possible)

There isn’t going to be a Republican Party in four years. This is their last gasp. Just sit back and enjoy the show as they flop around on the floor in a puddle. Then go out and vote for the candidate that isn’t a dead fish.

This will probably play out like the Paul Ryan endorsement. Trump will frame it as a magnanimous gesture to a supplicating Pence.

"The tax returns? Yeah, Mike came to me. He asked me if he could release his tax returns. Mike is a good guy, one of the best guys. A smart guy. I wouldn’t have hand-picked him to be my VP otherwise. So he came to me and he said, ‘Mr. Trump, do you mind if I release my tax returns? Of course I won’t do that if it would cause you any problems. This is your call, not mine.’

“So I told him to go ahead and release his tax returns if he wants. What do I care? Mike is a good man, and if he wants to release his tax returns, of course I’ll let him.”

I, and I alone, did the bolding!

Otherwise is a pretty big word for Trump. Just offering a friendly critique of your impersonation.

Just as much? No. The GOP platform embraces anti-science.

But while I’m a liberal, I completely agree that liberals are not remotely immune. Woo is embraced in many liberal circles. Many liberals are incredibly ignorant of science and it’s just luck that they are on the scientific side rather than the bullshit side.

As often, it is Paul Krugman who offers a clear perspective on the modern Republican Party and Trumpism.

They are going to have problems at the National level, but they are still firmly entrenched in our state and local governments. They aren’t going to magically disappear, people need to run for office and everyone needs to get out and vote, every election, not just every 4 years.

Trump’s efforts at the national level are a good start, then trickle down as the GOPers are fond of promoting.

Trump threatening to revoke more press credentials.

There is still no shame coming from Trump. Oh well, I will let him to continue to remind all about how he is worse than Nixon regarding his faulure to release his taxes and banning press groups.

Yes, even Nixon’s head would be better than Cheeto Jesus.

The head of Richard Nixon, cyrogenically preserved, is brought back to life to save the party he once loved.

There really are so many ways you can go with this. Sitcom? Sci-fi? Horror? Legal drama? Opera? I leave it for the world to develop…

Y’know, it’ll be a struggle, but I… I think I should be able to, too.

The world already did develop it. Nixon’s head is President of Earth on Futurama.
