Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

The Breitbart people recently ordered a poll made by Gravis to show that all the other polls were biased, they found that Trump was down by 5.

[More sad trombone sounds]

In a very similar vein the Fox people in Georgia ordered a poll, and it shows that right now Trump and Clinton are tied in the usual red State.

Georgia in play. That’s amazing.

Being a Georgia resident, I’m hoping the down-ballot effects will be significant.

That’s just crazy. Anyone knows that in order to get an unbiased poll, you need to do it at a Trump rally. Otherwise how on earth will you know what the people really think?

never did i say " polls** will change in Trump’s favor after 1st debate "**
that was simply made up by others.

nobody knows who’ll win 1st debate.
i don’t - you don’t.

but public’s perceived winner should get a boost in polls.

if Trump is still behind in polls by Sept 26 1st debate date… he may need a win
in 1st debate in order to remain viable in election. ?? ie-- pivot point. we’ll see.

then again … if he continues giving killer speeches like the one he’s giving in Charlotte , N. C. right now … he may be ahead in polls by then. ha!
prolly best speech yet tonight ! seems that staff shake up is working !

even said he " regrets past comments that caused personal pain for others "
(paraphrased ) . a 1st for him.

I like your optimism! Please stick around until after the election, okay?

I’m pretty sure that Trump will regress to the mean between now and Election Day. Campaign shakeups are like the convention; you get a bump, then the newness wears off.

Trump has already said he has not plans on changing his approach. Look for him to go off-script again, and it’ll be business as usual for the Human Cheeto.

Kayleigh McEnany just said (on CNN) that African Americans have a 58% unemployment rate. This includes high school and college students. She doesn’t understand how this is misleading.

I just watched the portion of the speech where he gives his “regret” comments. Maybe I’m overly cynical, but if you watch his mannerisms and pauses, complete with his smirking/making faces to the audience during multiple pauses, I don’t get any sincerety out of this.

It really looked like he was mugging for the crowd as if to say “look at the crap I have to say to be politically correct, can you believe it?”

Considering the work of some of his new campaign staff, and his self proclaimed determination not to change who he is and to attack Clinton hard, pardon if I express skepticism that this change in tack has anything to do with his new staff, or that it’ll last.

“When I said that, I was regretful, but not that regretful, to be honest with you.”

Here’s a fun one. The Trump campaign collected a bunch of positive media quotes about his law order speech and posted them here.

Like this one here…

I wonder what was left off in that ellipsis. The original tweet is here.

Firstly, why would the Trump campaign use media quotes as support after repeatedly telling anyone who would listen that the media is dishonest?

Secondly, why do it in such a transparently dishonest manner?

“I regret that [I have been told] I have to say these things.”

Kind of like the classic insincere Non-apology apology, to wit, “I’m sorry you feel that way.”

i’ve watched most of his speeches ( cspan ).
tonight was different.
more relaxed … but still kept to teleprompter script.
shorter than usual too.
something’s changed.
he’d never make " regret " remark in past. women oughta like that.

we’ll see.

Why should women like that?

For much of American history, blacks enjoyed 100% employment. That all came to an end when the government got in the way of free enterprise. Thanks, Lincoln!!

The 19th Amendment people, maybe they can do something about it.

" let’s have a conversation " women .
repentance.

You know you don’t get charged by the word here, right? Also capital letters are no extra charge. You make every post as cryptic as possible, is that for effect?

You really think his dig at women is cryptic?

Just words, only when Trump publicly repudiates his joined to the hip racial profiler and convicted contempt of court Sheriff Joe Arpaio I will consider that his empty words have some meaning to the Hispanic community that he has insulted several times.

He also should dump his joined, to his other hip, bigoted guys from Breitbart:

But Trump will not. Fine with me, because to the target rich environment of just Trump’s behavior and past we can add the racism and bigotry of his personnel and friends; we then have a good idea of what to expect from a Trump administration. Nothing good and a road to deterioration.
