Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

Very well stated Budget Player Cadet

No point, really. Just confirming that I was right about the history of stupid candy-based analogies.

The Washington Post has continued to dig through the Trump Foundation records and revealed today that Trump has used at least $258,000 from this charitable foundation to fund settlements for his for-profit businesses.

Note that while it may be good business to solicit charitable donations from other people and use them to pay your personal obligations so you don’t have to spend your own money on it, it is not legal to do so.

Whew. Color me relieved!

Thanks! Obviously I didn’t check my link.:o

I question whether anybody will actually end up with the 0.8% tax savings. It seems that many times a reduction in the federal tax rate has also meant a reduction in the amount of money the federal government provides to the states. The states, needing to continue to provide services, end up raising taxes to pay for those services.

Invade a country, take their stuff! Mexico would be good, if they actually had some stuff to take. But close by, that’s a good thing! Gee, if only we could think of a country that is really close by, and has a bunch of stuff.

Hmmmm. Ponder, ponder…

I could use a little extra maple syrup, know what I’m sayin’?

What’s funny is that he said “centerfold” when he probably meant “above the fold.” Centerfold is not a term usually associated with respect for women.

*for those of you too young to remember magazines, Playboy was a magazine that contained interesting articles and photographs of naked women. The centerfold was an extra large photo in the center that folded out for more naked goodness.

Hey, good catch! Totally missed that.

Only if you’re white.

The meme changed from M&M to Skittles when Trayvon Martin was gunned down in the street carrying a bag of Skittles. But not racist.

In Donald and Ivana’s divorce proceedings, it was alleged that Trump liked to wander around clicking his heels together and saying “Heil Hitler”. And he kept a copy of Hitler’s speeches by his bedside.

I have an adopted forclosure cat named Skittles. I often have to look for / call that stupid cat when it gets dark…

One day awhile back it occurred to me that yelling Skittles! might not be taken by the black family down the street in the best light…:smack:

A genius at crowd energy, feeling them out, detecting what they would respond to. Build up energy, back down a bit, let them breathe, build again, back down, then head full steam to a thundering crescendo. There are pictures of him rehearsing his various gestures in front of a mirror. Especially the one with standing, arms crossed, chin thrust, and letting the crowd energy pour over him, and waiting for just the moment when it began to wane, and…cut if off. Let them down to a simmer, rebuild…

I’ve been told by native Germans that reading his speeches…they seem stupid, your mind wanders. But see the same speech as filmed, and it moves you. He didn’t care what you thought, long as he could make you feel. Dark magic. The horror.

I’d love to know how you came to that conclusion. The bowl of M&Ms meme came into swing in 2014 with the #yesallwomen thing. Trayvon Martin was killed in 2012, before the Syrian refugee crisis was really on the Western radar.

Unless their last name is Martin, I don’the know why they’d care.

That article says his friend addressed The Donald as Hitler. Pronoun-noun agreement and all that stuff can be tricky.
This part is the important part though.

Back after W’s tax cuts, and after the unfunded No Child Left Behind stuff, the local school system got a 1% income tax passed to try and pay for stuff they were required to do but couldn’t afford. A coworker complained about it, saying the federal government lowered his taxes and the local government should do the same.

I pointed out the Feds lowered the money, but increased the expenses, and the school needed money from somewhere. He replied that they should just do it, and stop taking his money.

I don’t work there anymore, but I’m afraid I know who he will be voting for.
