Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

Can we stick to the Trump campaign, maybe?

I second that notion.

Cite?

Better yet, just give me the year you think he arrived in the country and we can go from there.

It’s probably worth reiterating here that I didn’t cite the report, “oft wears hats” and “Euphonious Polemic” did back in posts #6884 and #6895. I’m just the guy that went and found the link to the report they were citing so that we could refer to the actual report, and not some news article about a news article about the report.

My first interaction with the Cato report was to say “I think your statistics are off too. It’s been a tad more frequent than 1/3,600,000,000.” I went on to point out that I thought the report, and the posters citing it were ‘measuring the wrong thing by calculating “the odds of being killed by a refugee in a terrorist attack”’.

Fair enough. I’ve created a new thread for the refugee discussion.

Hang on…are you saying that Hurricane is a multi-millionaire? We don’t get many of those around here!

Say, pal, can you let me have a hundred thousand dollars? I’ll get it back to you after payday.

Your’s, or his?

Isn’t reneging on his debts his business model?

“The savings will be yuge! Yuge! Believe me! Like my Wall and my hands! Nobody knows how to get out of debt better than me. I have more experience with getting out of debt than anybody. That’s what people are telling me, I’m hearing it, so, you know, it must be true.”

Posted bt Robert Reich on his blog. Honestly, it sounds a little too scripted to be the way it actually went down, but the facts are all acurate.

Yeah, some creepy troll approaches you and you don’t have all the answers at your fingertips means nothing. There are a lot of “man on the street interviews” where people get embarrassed for being ignorant. Tim Kaine could walk down the street of almost any city and not be recognized. I doubt 50% of Democrats know who he is.

On that note, I wonder how the far right recognize any Democrats when they see them in real life. The lack of screaming and/or screeching, the absence of horns, the willingness to talk with others-all these things must really throw them off.

Trump supporter’s reaction aside, how do you argue with Reich?

So, on to taxes now?

The analysis posted by Euphonius Polemic in post #6810 says "On a dynamic basis, all taxpayers would see an increase in after-tax income of at least 6.7 percent under the higher-rate assumption, or 7.9 percent under the lower-rate assumption. " That’s a good-enough reason to like Trump’s tax plan for me. I don’t have to be a millionaire to benefit from it.

Oh, you’d get a little bit. Your figures are inaccurate, however. unfortunately, you actually do have to be a millionaire to get very much.

Enjoy your $500.

I could go toe to toe with Reich. To quote Woody Allen, “The thing about intellectuals is that they can sound absolutely brilliant and have no idea what’s going on.”

Reich’s argument is that Trump started life with such an advantage that his fortune should be far greater than what it is if he is truly a great businessman. Let’s use that same criteria. Ever hear of Sam Reich? Ever hear of Adam Reich? Those are his sons and should be far more successful than they are given how supposedly brilliant their father is. How about Chelsea Clinton? Failure.

Probably just point him to this Politifact article

So Reich saying Trump was worth $200M in 1976 ibecause he became President of his father’s company s kinda sorta lying.

Do you not realize that “my figures” are just a direct quote from your cite? If they are inaccurate, we have you to thank for presenting us with an inaccurate source.

You have misunderstood how much tax relief would go to each quintile. Those in the top would benefit much, much, much more.

And even if that plan works as planned, it doesn’t take into account the fact that the states are going to have to raise taxes to make up for those program cuts.

Enjoy waving goodbye to your $500.

Just one question - what are you talking about?
