At this point, Julian Assange should probably reconsider his timetable if he wants to make a difference.

I can only assume that Assange’s long confinement is un-hinging him because I cannot make any sense at all of his recent behaviour. He seriously seems to have the delusion that by attacking Clinton, she’ll be forced to withdraw and Bernie Sanders will swoop into the rescue! Of course if he did actually have anything substantial it would more than likely just cause a Trump victory, and Trump has already said he wants to change libel laws to restrict freedom of the press. So he’s directly helping someone who is total anathema to his beliefs.
Of course the reality is he has nothing at all and he’s just become a rather pathetic attention whore.
The “theories” I’ve heard say that he’s just become very influenced by Russia, and that Russia thinks Trump will let them get away with anything. That’s about the only reason I could figure that Putin made a big deal of liking Trump. but then backed off when it seemed to hurt him.
Yeah but Assange being influenced by Russia makes no sense either. Journalists are regularly killed there for opposing the government and the internet and the press is heavily censored or controlled. Again it’s the opposite of what Assange is supposed to stand for. Russia only gives Snowden sanctuary because it annoys the US, they absolutely do not believe in anything he stands for.
The only reason that makes sense is that Assange is doing Russia’s work in the purely selfish belief that Russia will somehow provide him sanctuary and protect him like they are for Snowden.
