Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

Trump economic adviser Stephen Moore:

I have made no observation about the NCLR.

You asked a dumb question; one that has already been answered on several occasions, previously: “. . . how is an organization called “La Raza” (The Race) not flagrantly racist?

I noted that simply using the word “race” in the name of a group does not indicate that they are using the word in a Linnaean sense and that an assumption of racism based on the presence of that word is false.

References to the use of “race” in ways that indicate something different than attempts to identify biological race in American politics have been pointed out in numerous threads: E.g.,
here, here, here, and elsewhere.

We’ve been over this before, in connection with Justice Sotomayor’s confirmation hearings. NCLR is really more like a Latino version of the NAACP than a Latino version of the Nation of Islam or the Klan.

For all the good it does.

Yes, they ran out. After all, only about 60 billion humans have died (since the species arose).

In the “Who didn’t see this coming?” category:

Apparently, Trump’s Lead Attorney in the Trump U case #IsWithHer.

Doesn’t this make for a more flagrant conflict of interest than the judges ancestry?

Um, are you saying you saw it coming that one of Trump’s lawyers donated to Clinton? Cuz I’m calling bullshit on that if so. And how does this undermine Trump’s position? If anything he’s now got a duly registered traitor on his team. Isn’t this the same guy who they’re showing video of saying the judge is doing a fine job? Right or wrong, this revelation discredits that statement.

Did I see it coming that *Trump’s own lead attorney *in this fraud case was a Dem? No. Did I (and most others) see the inevitability of yet another trainwreck coming down on top of Trump’s head? Yes, of course… and if you don’t, you just haven’t been paying attention.

But this guy is not a “registered traitor” - Trump selected him LONG after he began a series of donations to Dems and HRC. Any competent campaign would have reviewed his donation history and would either have told Trump to select another attorney or have this information already out there, not ready to be dumped by Politico at a time when the Repubs should be celebrating.

Actually, I don’t see this as a screw-up at all. Perhaps Trump just hired the best lawyer he could, without checking his political affiliation – which would be completely reasonable, and refreshingly non-partisan. He’s a lawyer, not his campaign manager.

"My judge is biased against me, especially because of my Presidential campaign, through no fault of his own, solely due to birth. This bias is bad and shall not be tolerated.

My lawyer, on the other hand, is actively biased against me, especially because of my Presidential campaign, this bias is solely his by choice. This bias, I can accept."

I’m sure his attorney is the highest qualified attorney to fight this. Politically, however, especially because of the racist attacks on the judge in this very same case, he could have made a better choice.

Failing to vet your lawyer before a high-profile case isn’t refreshingly non-partisan - it’s just the rookie move of a non-politician.

His most recent contribution to Clinton was after being hired by Trump. I’m sure the more you know about Trump, the more you want Clinton to win.

Well, I just caught the tail-end of Greta van Susteren’s show, so I know now that Trump is going to win. Because she had Joe the Plumber on, talking about how all the naive Sanders voters are ripe for Trump to pick up.

Trump is losing the right wing talk show hosts.

The article goes on to say that if they can get enough delegates to vote to unbind themselves from Trump they can.
Maybe the figurative bloodbath at Cleveland can still happen. (Let’s hope it isn’t a literal one.)

 If I knew who Hugh Hewitt is, I would be more impressed.

nm

He shows up on MSNBC all the time.

This “MSNBC” of which you speak…?

Another entry for the “Who didn’t see this coming?” category:

Trump backs down from pledge to raise $1 billion, will not commit to even half that.

http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-06-08/trump-says-no-reason-to-raise-1-billion-for-campaign

And CNN.

He’s a leftover Reaganite who would have preferred JEB! or Rubio. Basically the Rush Limbaugh of the Romney/Bush crowd. But polite.

I get the feeling he’s just an extension of the #NeverTrump folks. All of Dishonest Donald’s trash talk about Judge Curiel must have made them think they had a second shot at fomenting a coup.
