A while back (less than 5 months) I started a pit thread condemning Joan Hall and her late husband Ted. I don’t recall the title, however. Searching the SDMB pit (and later all open forums) for such key words as:
Joan Hall
Joan and Hall
Venona
turned up nothing. I also searched for all posts made by “Spritle” in the pit over the last 6 months and did not find it. Could it have disappeared? Since it was about spies, could the secret government erased all traces of it’s existance? And why are those odd looking men in black suits walking up my driveway?
Could it have been lost in The Winter of Our Missed Content[sup]TM[/sup]?
Quite possible. If it was made between early December 2001 and February 2002, it’s gone forever.

Possibly lost in the great void along with my other sock; the program aired 5 Feb so I probably started the thread on the 6th or so. I just thought that I posted it after the great shift. Oh well.
DDG, I will resist the urge to suggest you do a quick google search on Ted Hall (hoist, petard and all that) and tell you that he was a spy at White Sands during the Manhattan Project. Nova ran an episode about Venona (decoded messages) and White Sands spies. Here is a link to some of the chilling things his wife Joan said.
