The only “hateful ignorance” here is your own… you get badly whooshed by Ukulele Ike’s offhand comment, you post a reactionary rant in response, you ignore (repeatedly) helpful thoughts on what the comment that offended you so might have really meant, and you make generalized statements about Disney and the other people posting to this thread.
Get over yourself long enough to look around you.
You didn’t? Who wrote that long post discussing, in great detail, how you conceived your child? Why, I believe it was you! Nobody asked you to add that here, you did it voluntarily. Seems like you’re more than happy to discuss your sexuality here; don’t bother complaining about it after the fact.
I really can’t stand people who hide behind their chosen lifestyle when taken to task over something stupid they did. This isn’t about your sexuality, your gender, or your lifestyle. This is about the ridiculous statements you’ve made in this thread. Deal.
This thread has gone from bad to worse… it’s either really funny, or really frightening.
I’m just curious as to the mechanics of this. If she “loves as a woman”, than how is her penis involved? If it’s not involved, how did her lovely woman sperm get into your vagina? I don’t care about how you or her live your lives, I’m just wondering how this works. If Kelly has decided that she is a woman and is in the process of having her gender corrected because of this ( all of which is fine by me, BTW, it’s your business, not mine ), why is she using her penis when y’all have sex?
Man, that is extreme TMI, I am not sure I want to know. Or that they should tell… unless they want to… in which case…
You get it.
I had no idea on any of these things. I don’t pay any attention on the board as to who is black, white, green, yellow, gay, bisexual, etc. You brought up this information. I was merely stating my amazement at your statement about woman sperm and the stupidity of it. Nothing sexual about ignorance. But any child with three parents will always stand out in a crowd and the least of your worries will be Disney and childcare issues.
Color me confused.
She’s in a non-traditional family/sexual relationship.
She and her mate(s) don’t like Disney.
Where’s the conflict?
Lee jerked wildly to what seems to me an innocent comment by Ukelele Ike. That is unfortunate. This thread now appears to be jerking wildly in response to details about lee and KellyM’s sexual relationship. That is also unfortunate.
“Woman sperm” works fine as a metaphorical reference. It also works as a factual description if one wishes to address concerns of gender identity as separaet from biology. It makes no sense if one defines “woman” solely in terms of chromosomes. Is it really that difficult for those of you fixated upon the third option to realize that in a conversation with a woman and the transexual lover who impregnated her that perhaps another interpretation was intended?
lee and KellyM, I wish you the best of luck in raising your child and in shielding said child from whatever unpleasant aspects of reality you wish until they are mature enough to handle the truth on their own terms. I understand and sympathize with the frustration which seems to be driving both the OP and some of your responses in this thread, but I think that you are making your path more difficult than it needs to be. I think Ike’s comment was entirely innocent of malice, as I think have been most of the comments in this thread. Anger in response to innocent offense might be justified from the perspective of your history, but it is out of proportion to the situation and increases only animosity.

What? You’ve never heard of a woman loving with a strap-on? You need to check your spam-mails more often.
Spiritus, like I said, had they dismissed the term Woman Sperm as a fun joke between them, there would have been no escalation of events. Instead, KellyM insisted it was a physiological possibility for women to produce sperm and insisted we were ignorant for thinking otherwise. She then claimed it was ‘complex’. It’s not. It’s a man’s sperm, and you’re giving it a different name.
Done and done.
You hate mongering pig fuckers make me sick.
You claim that there hasn’t been any hateful comments directed at Kelly & lee… are you fucking illiterate? Read some of the shit posted by reprise that he is now trying to claim he isn’t responsible for.
You people make me sick, and I am ashamed to be a doper after reading this disgusting thread.
For you (an adult) likely nowhere. But as has been consistenly pointed out in this thread, for a child with three parents, one of them a transsexual, Disney’s probably the least of his/her worries.
Other child, confused: “So, you can’t watch Mickey Mouse but one of your two Mommies used to be a man? And he/she is your real Dad too?”
Riddle me that one, Batwoman.
It’s not “women sperm”. Women don’t have sperm.
That’s why the seahorses that get pregnant are still called male, because they contribute the sperm, not the ovum.
A transexual is also not the same as a woman-born woman. For starters, she doesn’t have ovaries (unless she was born hermaphrodite). It doesn’t mean that she should necessarily have any less rights than a woman. Or that she should expect prejudice or mistreatment. But if she/he has testicles, then she/he has regular male sperm (using she/he to denote a pre-operation person).
Yeah, it is just too bad that a child is coming into the world with three loving parents who obviously care about it. I’m sure it would be much better being raised in a hate filled home like yours, Red Fury.
You make me fucking sick.
Don’t let the door hit your butt on the way out. I’ve read a lot worse than this on this board, just not the stupid comments that we’re supposed to believe. If one doper making snotty comments is all that it takes to shame you then grow a thicker skin. That poster has always been that way and you learn to either take it with a grain of salt or fight a battle. That doesn’t make the whole board responsible.
Well, fuck you too, grendel72.
Where the hell do you get off in saying my home is “hate filled,” asshole? You don’t know me from Adam to make such comments.
We don’t fucking live Eutopia, Liberalville, and the fact of the matter is that extremely unconventional situations such as the one presented here, will raise more than one eyebrow in the REAL FUCKING WORLD. Again, Disney’s the least of the kid’s worries.
Mind you, I’m in favor of gays adopting, sexual freedom to the max, etc., etc., etc…
But I call them as I see them. And you make me puke.
RedFury
If lee had made the claim that her child would never experience any social discomfort because said child would not be exposed to Disney, then you would have a point. She didn’t. You don’t. The issue of lee’s sexual relationships and family dynamics seems to have been raised (and reraised) particularly to contrast it with the her stance on Disney.
I’m saying I don’t see any contradiction between the two. If someone does, perhaps they will deign to explain it to me.

As I said, if one interprets the term “woman” solely in the context of chromosomal identity, then your point is valid. Personally, I think such a restrictive reading is ridiculous when engaged in a conversation with a woman and the transexual who impregnated her. In fact, I think it is pretty ridiculous in pretty much any conversation not already framed in clearly biological contexts.
Mrs Mundi once thanked me for reminding her “that she was a woman”. Strangely enough, I hadn’t even taken a cell sample much less run a chromosome analysis.
CLEAN UP! PIT! WET SPILL!
Yikes.
Up until Stofsky’s post, I had no idea about the nature of their relationship and frankly, that wasn’t what the whole brouhaha was about (in fact, I’m not even sure at what point in this thread I even realized that they were a couple). They want to put their hatred for Disney* on par with someone’s religious beliefs and treat it as unquestionable gospel, and to me that reeks of fundamentalism. Good luck with your new religion- the way you witness, you’ve managed to alienate co-workers, relatives, and several dopers who aren’t Disney fans.
*[sub]When I read the part about destroying someone’s cross-stitch present because it might have the little Mermaid on it, it struck me as hatefully petty. This isn’t about Disney- substitute Beanie Babies, Bob the Builder, et. al. for Little Mermaid and you’re still slicing bologna.[/sub]
Did you pee on the floor again Zette?
Perhaps I can, since I mentioned the issue (or maybe brought it up–I’m not going to reread this 83-page trainwreck to find out for sure). lee’s family’s objection to Disney is, at least in part, the (supposedly) poor treatment of the traditional idea of the mother in the family. Compare that to the treatment of the traditional idea of the father in their family, and you see the contradiction.
As I said, we need an exploding-head smiley
Da thing is Spiritus that for us who have bad memory and less interest in other doper’s sexual preferences the term “woman sperm” came as a shock. Then when somebody asked her to explain it she said that it was “complex”. That in my book means that either she believes that we are too frigging stupid to understand birds and bees or that that concept is utter BS. Had she explained we would have gone on with our merry lives (I least I would have).
Some dopers overeacted and said things I wouldn’t have said, that doesn’t make ALL of us disgusting bigots. We didn’t bring up the “gender” subject, and until the very last moment my only thought in the matter was that I had never heard Kelly was a man’s name, mind you. I am all for people doing whatever the hell they feel like (within reason). I was born in the last century, I might be a little outdated, but I ain’t no frigging bigot.
