Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead tonight

Just a reminder…

Barry

We (the brits) did it a week ago.

(HA!)

Next, some Hawaiian or Arizonan or person who lives in some part of Indiana will stop in here to remind people in those states to change all their message board settings tonight.

Spring forward? Feh. Blindly stumble forward is more like it. I hate losing the hour.

Is it that time of the year again? When the Facist Nazis steal an hour away from me? “It’s Springtime for Hitler and Germany” and I’m just the poor sap that lost an hour.

Damn, I hate when that happens.

I love it when they steal the hour.

Nothing quite like a dark morning, or a bright night. I hate biking home at night, in the dark.

Hey, it was only a week ago that we put ours back. I’m not quite ready to put them forward again.

Wow. This is my first time setting them forward.

Note to (fellow) Hawaii Dopers-- it feels as weird as it sounds.

And happily, the board settings and my computer’s settings took care of themselves.

Ben Franklin stole an hour of my day and I want it back!

Don’t worry, you’ll get it back in October.

Whoa! I hadn’t even realized it was that time of year!

Looks like my computer’s smarter than I am.

If we can mess around with the clocks like this, why can’t we just agree to turn the clocks back one hour every weekend, or even every day? I could sure use the extra hours.

(Next time I move, remind me to pick a planet with longer days.)

What other countries observe Daylight Savings Time?

I forgot. Good thing I had no appointments or anything today. I guess that’s why they do it Saturday night.

I hate this one.
It takes me weeks to reset my body clock.

My grandfather never accepted Daylight Savings Time. If you wanted to deal with him, you made an appointment, and adjusted the time accordingly. Because he was a fairly big wheel locally (county commissioner, etc.), people made the adjustment.

I seem to have inherited some of his cussedness; I’ve always thought DST was a fairly stupid concept. On the other hand, I’m an “early to bed, early to rise” kind of guy…

We don’t change our clocks/time here.
