Don't Fuck With Old Men On A Golf Course!

His reaction seems reasonable if he takes his golf very seriously. Afterall, the car had been fitted with a scoop, and was observed to be deliberately moving golf balls around on the green.

(but I still think it’s fake.)

Yes! As soon as i saw the title of the thread, i thought “Falling Down”!

Count me as someone else whose first thought upon seeing the video was “staged.”

Yes, that occurred to me after I posted the above. And we don’t know if it was an important game, such as (for example) a club tournament. And maybe he was having the game of his life. So there are some reasons why he’d plausibly react as he did. But I’ll continue to lean towards “fake” also.

It would have been a lot funnier if the car had pushed the balls into the hole then sped off.

“And now you’re going to die with that stupid hat on your head!”

Upon further investigation…yes, it’s a very clever & well-acted fake. The original video was created by INQ Mobile.

Interesting…is INQ Mobile known for vulgar, fake, viral videos or something? I know nothing about that company.

So clever and well-acted that lots of us instantly suspected a fake.

I noticed something the second time through, and it’s mentioned in the comments as well. When the golfer hits the car with his club, you can see it ends up in multiple pieces. When one of the assholes picks it up later, the chassis is in one piece and just the body has been knocked off. The camera shakes a bit when they get up to start running toward the green; they could have slipped an edit in there.

If you watch very closely, at 0:47 there’s an obvious, yet well-hidden edit.

Damn…so no Epic Beard Man thread after all, huh?

I had such high hopes!

Actually, no. They stole it from me; I’ve used that expression since I was about 10 years old, back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth.

Still, I wonder what inducement they gave those two old guys to participate in such a trite stunt:

“Okay Gramps, so this RC car runs onto the green, pushes your ball into the hole. You get all POed and such and start spouting profanity, and give the car a good whack with your 7 iron.”

“Umm okay sonny it’s a deal!”

Why is that mean? Isn’t it just making them think they got a ball into the hole?

Um, yeah… but it’s also completely screwing with somebody’s good time. A good time they probably paid a hefty green fee to have; golf isn’t cheap, you know. People take their golf game seriously, and this guy might have had a lifetime handicap that was affected by this “favor”. And then on top of that you throw in the behind-the-back snickering over watching someone celebrate something they didn’t earn (unbeknownst to them), and you have the actions of a true [redacted due to forum].

I love it when you’re subtle. Whisper some more in my ear big boy, won’t you? My marriage sucks, I need a cheap thrill!

I’m sure he stole the story from somewhere, but my barber once told be that he was out playing a round, and the guys behind him kept playing practically on top of him - much to his annoyance. When we was down in a little low valley area, one of their balls landed within about ten yards of where he was walking. He sprawled out on the grass and rested the ball one his eye - pretending to be knocked out. Supposedly the guys saw it, panicked, and left.

I have no idea what you’re on about, but I was referring to don’t ask’s prank, not your video link, which has already been shown to be fake.

The barber was a douche for not having them play through.

That didn’t strike me as too odd.

  1. Camera was focused on the guy chasing them the whole time they were running. Unlikely.

This gave it away for me. I was suspicious after a few seconds, because it had that viral video vibe to it–where the camerawork is a just a little bit too clean for most home videos and the action and dialogue is a little too well compressed–but that part–and the kid who looks in shape saying he was “out of breath” after a little 10 second jog across the golf course, confirmed it.

Probably, I don’t know golf at all, but the guy was a douche in general. An openly racist douche too. I’m sure it never happened anyhow, or he stole it from a Dorf video.
