Don't hurt yourself in the MMP!!!

It was a painful weekend - I’ve got 3 new boo-boos on my right hand, all accidentally self-inflicted. There’s a gash on one knuckle (I caught it with a fingernail), a cut on another knuckle (no idea where that one came from), and an ugly tear on the back of my hand from the spool spindle on my sewing machine (it slipped as I was getting it down from the closet shelf.) That’s in addition to the nearly-healed burn on my left thumb from the basement fireplace last week.

Who else seems to be bent on self-destruction? I can’t be alone here.

Oh, yeah, Happy Moanday!

Well, no injuries, but I came down with a cold virus a couple of days ago. Nothing terrible, just your run-of-the-mill cold.

It still sucks though. 'Tis the season.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, brekkied, purtified, and dressed in appropriate goin’ about the public attire, so no YAWN. ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and way foggy, with a predicted high of <snerk> 69! <snerk> for the day and maybe mostly cloudy. As I mentioned yestiddy, this mornin’ I get to accomplish the chore of cleanin’ out the septic and grease trap filters over to the church house. ICK! I’m told it is not that bad and the instructions I have for doin’ so sound like it’s not that bad, just kinda messy. Still ICK! However, to ensure stuff does not backup into restrooms and the kitchen, it must be done. I am sure septic and grease trap backup would be a much worse thing with which to deal. I shall also deal with some defilthyfication of da cave. Sup will be ham steak, scalloped N.O.T., peas ‘n carrots, and rolls. I foresee much adultin’ today.

I have come to live with the fact that there will be some type of injury upon my body at any given time. Just the way of me. This mornin’ no doubt will be an adventure in discoverin’ new ways to injure myself.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

In bed already. I’ll be glad to get home. This wasn’t a great trip.

I went and got some replacement meds, which really helped.

Nest trip, TW and kids can came and I’ll stay home.

Happy Moonday!

I slept all the way through until 5 minutes before the alarm went off.
I consider that a win.

It’s a N.O.S. and chilly 28 degrees outside. Supposed to get up to 55 later today.

One load of laundry ready to be dried and another load ready to go in. One is much more productive when one gets enough sleep. I also proofread my son’s assignment, found a few errors and he had to go back in and fix some things. That has been turned in and I am expecting a not so good grade on it. Then again, I don’t understand it but I at least caught spelling and grammar errors, and that he missed part of the assignment.

The critters are restless this morning. The cat teases the dog, the dog chases the cat, the dog catches the cat, the cat screams bloody murder, one of us breaks it up, lather, rinse, repeat.
I asked the dog if he is bored out of his mind, not that there is much mind to be bored out of. He wags his tail and agrees.
Since it’s going to be warm today I can take him outside for a good brushing. He is shedding something awful.

No ouchies on me, right now. Most of mine come from Ripple who tends to play too rough.
My left knee is sore, as is my right ankle, some walking down the stairs each morning is a silent ouch with each step. There are times I question the sanity of buying a two story house.

Good Moanday morning all. Slept in to 7:30am, so no new record for me. It’s 58F in N. Ali-bama, heading towards 65. We may even see 70F tomorrow. There is also rain in the neighborhood, but I’d trade a little dampness for warmer weather anytime.

swampy, enjoy the defilthifying at church. Imagine the chances of some type of ouchies there is pretty good…

Sari, I deliberately bought a 1-story house anticipating that walking up and down stairs was not a good idea over 20 years. I knew my knees were going to be a problem later in life even them.

TB, sorry you had a miserable trip.

FCM, I am currently without any mishaps, I broke a drinking glass yesterday but managed not to inflict any cuts on myself cleaning it up. Outside of some interesting Rice Krispies noises (snap, crackle, and pop) in my neck and knees, I’m about as healthy as a overweight bald 66-year old who doesn’t exercise can be…

Onward to the week. Have some bills to pay and JJ’s to eat at for today.

I bought a new bicycle this weekend.

I was riding home (I commute by bike) from work on Friday when the rear derailleur came off. It got tangled in the wheel spokes causing me to come to a sudden stop. Ouch. It mangled several spokes in the rear wheel, and the mounting point on the carbon fiber frame got all torn up. I also had to push the bike home. Fortunately I was only three miles from home.

The bike shop said it wasn’t repairable (carbon fiber - they said they could try to repair it, but they didn’t think it would be safe), but they’d be happy to sell me a new one.

So I bought a new Trek. So much for this year’s tax return. But it’s a really cool bike.

Not only did my son get 100% on his assignment, he got some nice comments from the professor as well. I thought he needed to do more, but obviously not.

MetalMouse, I think you get plenty of exercise with your soccer kids.
I would have preferred a one story house, but all of those in my price range were very small and/or needed a lot of work. Having a powder room on the first floor helps.
I think about my family who lived in city rowhouse with a bathroom on the second floor and the kitchen in the basement and wonder how they did it. Then again, I pet sat for clients where the first floor was a garage, family room, and laundry room; the second floor was kitchen and living room; third floor was bedrooms and bathroom. Very inconvenient layout, and most of them added powder rooms to the first floor as soon as they could.

Have fun Swampy!

First off from last week:

I have a double garage with a cannon; close enough? I know a lot of people who would actually prefer that to a standard guest room.
And for us to fall just short of another top of yet another meaningless page? Ending on #198? I think society is to blame.

Moooom, Aldi is small enough with limited enough choices that you really don’t spend a lot of time in the store. The cashiers also don’t get held up with coupons like other stores.

butters, I’ve never been called for jury duty. I think it would be interesting to serve, but just haven’t been asked.

I’m off irk today. It was past eleven when I got home last night, so I slept in. Nelson got a good half hour walk in before it began sprinkling, a load of clothes is in the wash and ready for the dryer, the next load needs to be put in and KP needs to be done. I’m going to go to the dealership today because my phone isn’t talking to my car and some a-hole took a chip of paint off my driver’s door. I’m hoping to get a little touch up pen for it.

Other than that, a few Sunday chores and mending are on the agenda.

I got a slight bruise/rub on an ankle from driving in new sneakers. Most people using new shoes get blisters; I bang my clutch foot.

All of this results from a local K-Mart closing, me hating shoe shopping, and a deep discount. I have two very specific shoes I like for work and very specific size needs for that task because of how much twisting and turning we have to do. Those I often have to buy online or at specialized stores. But for normal use and amusement parks at the like I can go a little further afield. I had a pair of Everlasts some time back that were good daily shoes and there were a lot in my size still in stock. I say “were” because I snagged 8 pairs 60% off lowest marked price. So I figure right now I have about a 5 year supply. That is how I like to shoe-shop -------- go in the closet and get another pair out.

I slipped on the ice outside today; freezing rain will do that. Now I have a wet knee at work and it’s not comfortable. Oh, first world problems.

Didn’t sleep much last night. Romeo Jr. decided to wake up at 3:30 in the morning, and after a lot of back and forth, we finally got him down at 4:30. Then at 5:30, my home phone rings; there’s a 2 hour delay for school because of the ice and fog. Then my alarm goes off at 6:30. Got maybe 4 hours total.

I’m heading to get more coffee right about… now.

Lunch break!!

**Red **- I wish Aldi had been a little less crowded because there were a few things I’d have liked to look at, but I wasn’t going to be the one blocking the aisle. And, of course, next time I’m there, they may not have the items of interest. No biggie - I don’t need to be spending unnecessary money.

You have unnecessary money?
Cool! Wanna share?

Tried to brush the dog outside. He is too excited by the nice weather and me being out there to stand still long enough.
The cat got a good brushing, which he enjoyed very much.

I’m hungry, time for lunch.
Don’t know what it’s going to be yet.
Maybe some fake crab salad.

Oh hush - you know I meant “spend money unnecessarily” - so back off!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Serious Moanday brain fry going on here…

monsoon is in effect still …now with flood warnings …… no ones killed anyone yet …. that’s gonna happen when things settle down in a few days …geicos been calling back and forth since 8 am but I think its done for now

I am told that lizard tastes just like chicken.

Howdy Y’all! I learned how to clean grease and septic traps without mishap, so yay me. Still kinda ick though. Didn’t clean the ice machine cause the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) are meetin’ tonight and well, we wouldn’t want church ladies without ice now would we. Instead I turned the make ice part of the ice maker off as there is plenty of already made ice for them tonight. Also, da cave is spiffed enough so no one will die from a horrible disease after bein’ here. Now chillage until time to make sup.

Yesterday it got cold. The hummingbird feeder froze. Nevertheless, two hummingbirds were camped out, trying to get some nourishment. I brought it in and defrosted it, warmed the nectar, warmed the vessel, and put it back out. They got some food before it froze again. I took it in last night, and have just hung it up again. At 23ºF, it will be frozen soon.

And it snowed. Not much, but it’s there. The power went off after the Super Bowl, before the presentation of the trophy. I started up the generator so we’d have TV, cable, and Internet (as long as the battery in Comcast’s box on the pole outside lasted – perhaps three hours). After about half an hour, it finally dawned on me that I could plug a lamp into the generator. I did. About a minute later, the power came back on.

Today the circuit for the fridge, the hood over the stove, and the outlet next to the stove is down. Nothing is plugged into that circuit now. When I flip the breaker, it sounds like it’s tripping immediately. Mrs. L.A. called the guy who rewired the kitchen a couple of years ago, and he’s supposed to be here around 13:00 PST.

It snowed in Seattle, and I guess it’s a mess. I was going to meet the guy who’s servicing my Aatons tomorrow at the office. He called to say he won’t be able to make it. We’ll try next week.

`if you ever watch a restaurant “rescue” show you will never want ice in your drink ever again ….

Although ive never been a big fan of ice in drinks anyhow ………

my uncle used to clean out the grease traps in restaurants ……between the smell and the sludge I don’t know how he did it for so long ……
