“Sharknado” almost broke Twitter tonight.

I agree, the BEST WORST movie I’ve seen. And I love Syfy’s stupid movies like this. Fella and I laughed hysterically thru most of it. I think we will both scream ‘ROOFSHARK!’ at inopportune times.
ROOFSHARK!!!
So who watched. I just started it but I won’t get far before I have to crash and burn.
edit: I get the feeling there will be some jiggle interest but that the ‘jiggle’ won’t necessarily be attached to the rest of the anatomy - ewww!
My spousal unit and I watched the first 10-15 minutes or so. We both cracked up at the scenes on the boat - it’s a sailboat! No, it’s a trawler! No, it’s… we think at least 3 different boats were used. Then there’s the ocean - it’s like glass, no, it’s choppy, no, it’s stormy, no, wait, it’s like glass, etc. And the sky goes from clouds to clear blue to dark and menacing and back and forth - I was cracking up over the continuity issues in the short bit I saw. If I hadn’t been so tired, I’d have tried to watch it all - I’m sure it only got better/worse!!!
Anyone know when it’ll be rerun?
It was remarkably well-produced and even for an entertainment of this nature. Madame Pepperwinkle and I laughed all the way through.
I loved how they had a whole menagerie of sharks working together, in a tornado, to kill people.
I believe I finally see the wisdom SyFi had in cancelling MST3K all those years ago: The movies they produce these days getting the MST3K treatment would be totally superflous.
I just searched for a rerun (since we missed it due to a dog emergency). None scheduled! WTF?!? What else does SyFy have to run?
Syfy’s website shows they’ll be showing it again on August 22nd at 7pm EST.
I only saw about the last 45 minutes or so. I liked how the big shark just swallowed people whole without biting them at all. I was also impressed with the Evil Dead-esque escape from inside the shark.
I don’t have cable at home, but I’m on a short roadtrip and was excited (?) that I could see Sharknado in my hotel room. Wrong! The hotel’s TV channel listing showed SyFy, but in reality the channel was some damn sports network.
Wow - they’re being really stingy! Thanks for the heads-up, it’s going in my calendar.
It delivered what it promised.
I scared myself with my ability to turn off my brain last night: At no time during the movie did I realize that “Fin”, in addition to being the name of the main character, is also a part of a shark.
Obviously I need to see a neurologist. What if I do this while driving?
I think that, in order to enjoy this movie, certain normally active portions of the brain have to shut down in self-defense. Unless you start seeing sharks when it rains, you needn’t worry. ![]()
Watched 3 minutes from the middle. Laughed at its ridiculousness. Grew wear of its ridiculousness. Went to bed.
Watched the whole thing. My favorite was
When Nova fell out of the Helicopter while stabbing a shark in the head and getting swallowed whole by another shark, only to be rescued by the chainsaw wielding hero (who somehow didn’t hit her with the saw)
Had to spoiler tag that so this gem doesn’t give anything away for those that haven’t seen it yet.
Without a doubt my favorite parts were the growly noises the sharks were making. Biting a leg: “Rrowrr! Grr! Grr! NOM NOM NOM.” Still not as great as the shark at the end of Jaws: The Revenge roaring like a lion, but great nonetheless.
