Stoopit fish jumped into the overflow, and when **FCD **pulled out the assorted plumbing parts to clean them, fishy was swept down and into the sump. We tried to catch him once, but he weren’t having nothing of that! So today we’ll try again.
Meanwhile, back from breakfast and a couple of errands. I’m going to go out and weed a bit. Mostly, I plan to be lazy today.
It’s 11:16 and I’m still in my jammies. Waiting for the towels to be washed so I can take a shower. In the meantime, I should eat breakfast/N.O.L. and maybe some chocolate.
It looks like it’s just me and Sah-son for a while. So that makes any day a good day.
It’s a cloudy cool 67 degrees with a projected high of 73.
I am so tired. I went to bed around 1 and got up a 3 and 6 and 8 and then collapsed until 11:30 with weird dreams and restlessness in between.
That is so cool FCM. Tarra Sah-son luvs pizza, he’d live in it 7 days a week with an occasional TacoSmell thrown in and he didn’t like PapaJohn’s too much. I’m not all the fond of pizza so I never want to order from there because that’s all there is except for chicken wings and poppers which is not a meal. He loves Dominoes Pizza but I don’t like their subs at all. The bread tastes weird.
Swampy do you live to eat or eat to live? either way I am so tempted to move to Georgia and just happen to be in your neighborhood at mealtime.
I don’t know, rosie. Even if he just figured his time at minimum wage, plus materials, he’d have to charge about $100. I really like it, but I wouldn’t pay that much for it, and I know how much work went into it. And he just used poplar and plywood. Had he used some if his nicer wood - like cherry or walnut - the cost of materials would go up, plus the time to make it would go up because he’s got to run the wood thru the planer and jointer to make nice boards. Even tho it’s just a hook and needle holder, it’s made like a piece of furniture - the only visible screws are up thru the bottom - it’s way classy!
I weeded for an hour or so, and hauled a cart full of weeds to the back of the yard. I’ve got the sprinkler going now to water where I pulled stuff up and to wet the adjacent area that gets weeded next. The area I just worked is going to be filled with lilies after I go to Mom’s next weekend.
So I take it the sermon was “If you look at this verse in the original language, it actually means this that and the other and that’s really cool!” Most Lutheran pastors are frustrated linguists.
I would plunk down hard-earned money for something like that.
I’ve cleaned, laundered, and turned in a library book. Stopped by the Way of Sub on the walk back from la biblioteca and got me a six-inch spicy Italian <snerk>. Now I have to decide which crafty thing I want to do this afternoon after my three rows of TNETB: cut up a t-shirt or cut up plastic bags? Either way, something’s getting cut to pieces.
I got myself a present today. I went to Amazon and bought the book that’s been on my wishlist the longest. It’s Tales of a Korean Grandmother. I read it years ago, but I lost the copy and I can’t seem to find it anywhere but Amazon. Frances Carpenter seems to have fallen out of fashion.
**Spaz **- I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t make one for less than $100 - for such a small item, there was a lot of work. He used furniture-making techniques. And it wasn’t even made of the really nice wood - that would be even pricier.
Supper will be assorted leftovers - poke BBQ or N.O.T. soup, with just-made coleslaw and whatever else we can find in the fridge. I don’t feel like fussing with a big meal.
N.O.L. was a success if’n I do say so myself. sari when it comes down to eatin’ out or eatin’ at da cave, I much prefer eatin’ at da cave. We do get invitated to N.O.L. or dindin out by friends to reciprocate for when I have folks over. It just feels good to know that folks like it when they get invitated to da cave for vittles.
spaz actually it was a Luterun service with a Whiskypalian sermon as YP Presided (Whiskypalian term) and preached this mornin’. Except for the occasional visitin’ Luterun Pastor the sermon is Whiskypalian bein’ as either YP, our Associate Priest (who is a woman, so should I entitle her AP or WP?) or our Deacon. This Call to Common Mission thing means it could be any kinda combo Luterun/Whiskypalian goin’s on.
MOOOOOOM occasionally one must have a clean out da fridge dindin. Nuttin’ wrong with that. That’s a cool thing full of holes!
Anywho, diswasher is dishwashin’ away and da bear is chillin’. Been a busy weekend!
Two days in a row I’ve been the evil granddaughter stopping my grandparents from picking apples. The tree is just full of them. Think I can burn it down, because I see no likelihood that this conversation about not giving apples to the dogs will ever be successful.
The prodigal fish is back in the big tank!!! The other tow blue chromis are picking on it, because fish can be a bit dickish… Water is changed and the tank is gorgeous and clear. And in 2 weeks, it’ll get done again.
I once spent an entire day trying to catch a rogue cichlid in the sump… It was a biiiig sump, for the main zoo aquarium system, and the cichlid had apparently washed down as a baby, and grown up in there without anyone noticing. Basically the Kaspar Hauser of the fish world.
Aaanyway, I’ve just had 4 hours ‘guarding’ an empty car park in the dark without a torch. I’m not sure what the purpose of that exercise was, but I get paid for it.
I keep getting ads about Calgary’s mayor on many websites I visit. I swear, he’s following me around online. shifty eyes But I like him, so I don’t mind.
Still haven’t finished with my photos. I’ll try to finish them today.
