Don't tell me I'm the MMP starter!

Howdy Y’all! Irk is over for the day. YAY! Ok, I need to log in to take care of a few things in a while but that won’t take too long. It has been drizzly, then really rainy, then drizzly, then really rainy, lather, rinse, repeat, all day long today. Also the temp is ONLY 74 Amurrkin out as I post. Why that’s positively frigid for this time of year.

Dindin shall be grilled ham steaks, green beans, scalloped N.O.T. and rolls. I actually did the beans and N.O.T. last night so they just need to be heated up. Easy yet yummy dindin.

Word!

Quit! You tempt the Gods of Chaos!

He wouldn’t eat you, he’d just love you and hug you, and call you George!

Another Monday.

Not a very chatty Moanday, is it? I had a pretty good day at work with minimal interaction with Missy Prissy, so yay for that! **FCD **called and said he wanted N.O.T. soup for supper, so I had to stop for a sack of the main ingredient, and I got a few other things as well. The soup was yummerrific, and later we’ll be having a carrot cake that mysteriously found its way into my cart.

It was also a good day because the check that we thought got lost finally showed up in our account, so yay for that! I’m watering my plants, and after I read the comics and Dear Abby, I’m going to finish my Amish towels - I kinda didn’t to them yesterday as I’d intended. So this way, I can drop them off on my way home.

Oh, and the geezers among us will get a kick out of this. I think I mentioned that there’s a box of disks on the floor in the hall outside my office area. It’s got both 3.5" and 5.25" disks. Well, I heard a very young female’s voice in the hall expressing amazement at the larger disks. She’d never seen such a thing!! She’d have probably peed herself if she’d seen the even more vintage 8" floppy - the kind I used when I met my first word processor in the early 80s - a Wang. Can’t imagine who she’d react to seeing a stack of punch cards. Danged young 'uns!!!

**QuickSilver **- how can you not feel the vibrancy and excitement and airborne electricity that is the MMP?? After all, we are the cool kids - legends in our own minds!!

Well, you know what they say… “You’re only young once, but you can be immature forever.”

(Not that I’m implying that swampy or anyone else here is immature all the time. I just thought it was a funny saying. )

You’d be a doo doo head if you did call any of us immature. :stuck_out_tongue:

MOOOOOOM you should totally tell her you an eight inch floppy Wang in the early 80s.

Midget I point to the first sentence in this post as proof of my eternal immaturity.

Dindin turned out nummy just as I predicted. I have some more ham that needs to be used and drawin’ on MOOOOOOM’s mention of N.O.T. soup, I shall shortly peel some N.O.T.s and make some ham 'n N.O.T. soup.

That is all.

This picture sums it up for me.

Gotta get it in gear to try to get that bad memory module exchanged, must make breakfast bready stuff for the week, and need to at least start a defilthification campaign around here. Also gotta get both of us to put out some job applications.

Soup is simmerin’ away. Should make for a nummy dindin tomorrow. I have a start on tomorrow’s dindin. I feel so efficient!

I remember using 5 1/4" floppies in elementary school. Now I have a terabyte drive because I’m living in The Future.

I’ve not seen the 8" disks, but I have seen ENIAC’s “floppy disk.” That thing takes up an entire wall.

I learned how to use magnetic tape before I learned punch cards.

I used to use the big floppy thingies for DOS games. There was that old Jeopardy dos game that took forever to play, and the one where you pretended you were driving a car and I thought the object of the game was to crush all the pilons instead of driving around them.

Ah yes, the days of floppies, 16 colours, and 8-letter filenames…

Magnetic tape?? pfffffft - I used to run an office machine that read punched paper tapes! OK, it wasn’t exactly like a computer, but it was tape.

:stuck_out_tongue:

uphill, both ways, barefoot, in the snow

I like the way you think!

Well now, I have proof that at least some here are my elders. I have never programmed anything with a punch card.

I have a serious decision to make and I need Mumper help

Gloss Black or Pearl White?

Happy Moanday all

Cheers

Jim

Fuck. Night Audit Lady has been “asked” not to work out her notice. At least she can work for her husband’s shop, but she clearly got thrown under the bus for something that wasn’t her fault. And since I’m the officially decreed work wife for Big Boss, I’m not sure what I’m going to hear tomorrow. Thing is, I was there when the situation she was not-really-fired for came to light and I’ve noticed a lot of backpedaling on the part of TPTB.

Yeah, I’m going to talk to Irish Storyteller on Saturday. I’m going to meet up with him for his birthday and since he’s the HR guy where he works I’m going to ask him to review my resumé. I don’t like the way the winds are blowing.

Word from my quack: no gallstones found. I’m to see a gastroenterologist for more tests.

I know Og won’t give me more than I can handle. I just wish he didn’t think I’m such a bad ass.

I had a computer teacher who kept one. I still have some Apple II 5 1/4" flppoies.

Fighting off bears and indians!

Gloss black

burgers were good.

Definitely black. It’s after Labor Day.

I will be wearing it all year, at night, on stage

If that changes any votes so far…

Jim

ETA I usually wear black from head to toe
