I do because, as this news item demonstrates, it allows people like Dick Armey to prove what asses they really are.

As and example these exerpts from the article: “I always see two Jewish communities in America: one of deep intellect and one of shallow, superficial intellect. Conservatives have a deeper intellect and tend to have occupations of the brain in fields like engineering, science and economics … while liberals flock to ‘occupations of the heart.’ … Liberals are generally not very bright, and conservatives are deep thinkers.”

Removing the liberals and conservatives from the mizture… I wonder if anyone feels there’s any validity to the observation that engineers, scientists, and economists are “deep thinkers” while persons working at ‘occupations of the heart’ are not?

What is an ‘occupation of the heart’, anyway? Elementary school teacher? Social worker? Cardiac surgeon?

Bricker: If you tried to tell any of my relatives (RNs, CRNAs, etc.) that they weren’t ‘deep thinkers,’ they’d sock you one and then show you their college transcripts.

I like free speech for much the same reasons the OP does: There’s nothing to stop people from shooting themselves in the foot.

“Deep thinking” apparently means the answers are tax cuts and going to war, even before you know the questions.
