It’s brave of him to come out but I still wish that one’s sexual preference wasn’t such a big issue for anyone.
Thinking on it now I wonder why it wasn’t more obvious and then I realized that I never considered Doogie Howser to ever be sexual at all, with anyone or anything. He’s still just a kid to me.

I actually thought the understated way he came out was really classy and really downplayed the ‘big issue’ aspect of it. There were reports that he’d denied that he was gay, and the statement was like ‘Huh, what, no. I’d never deny that, of course I’m gay, duh.’ (Though much more artfully written than that.) It was a nice little comment that the problem is not with the being gay, but with the denying.
:mad: No fair! I thought about MPSIMS but I figured he was an actor so…
And Wile, just was I was thinking, he never seemed to have any sexuality. So his coming out as having a very definate sexuality seemed a bit strange. But I say again, good for him, for having the balls to say who he really is. ( :eek: Doogy Howser has balls???)
Now I’ll be off to read the other thread by the miserable bastard*who started it before me.

I liked Doogie. I never saw anything else he’s been in. But to me, this is about as revelatory as “Paris Hilton drinks Perrier at dinnertime.”

Somebody though he was straight? I’d heard about his boyfriend back when he was in Cabaret – and I’m not a celebrity watcher; it was discussion at work over lunch. Wherein no one there was really surprised. Nor terribly interested.
