I’m on XP Pro and Firefox, and it’s been happening to me for a while. Is it anything to do with being inactive on the board for a while?
Also, when I’m logging in, I have far more success using the top right log in boxes, than I have trying to log in on the box that appears in the center of the screen.
That sounds doubly weird, as you shouldn’t need to log in simply to read a thread.
However, as I stated before, many threads that I have read aren’t getting marked as read if I leave the site and return.
Has to do with “cookies” and how they are handled by the setups in the combination of “browser” and “operating system”. Because there are so many combinations of both, the only way anyone knowledgable can answer your question “definitively”, would be to actually -see- your setup. All you’re going to get here are “educated” WAGs, or maybe “misedumakated” WAGs. But WAGs are all you are going to get. I’m not going to stick my dick in that meatgrinder.

As a not terribly savy Mac user, I don’t tinker with settings or change anything around. If it’s working, I’m leaving it be. Which is why it’s so odd when something like this just pops up.
