Silentgoldfish, I take amitriptyline for the neuralgia – it does a pretty good job of reducing the number of “spasms” to, at most, 2-3 a day at maybe 5 seconds’ duration each. (I used to have maybe 10-15 a day, and they could last over 10 minutes each.)
I have found that amitriptyline makes me sleep much longer than I normally would, and I’m still tired after I wake up. That’s kind of annoying.
rosacea
formerly had WPW, a heart condition, but its taken care of now.
Cancer
Cancer-linked depression and anxiety
Cancer-linked weight loss
Not really cancer-linked but using it as an excuse for it bitchiness.
dysthemia, a mild form of depression (at the time I was a lot happier, let us say)
genetic alcoholism on both sides of my family
psychosis which I fear is turning into schizophrenia (and won’t THAT make dopefests interesting)
and either an abnormally (and I really mean abnormally) fast metabolism, or I fidget more than anyone on earth.
clinical depression
nearsightedness
chronic procrastination
caffine and nicotine addiction
I guess that’s enough for now.
-Epilepsy (most of the time under control)
-Nearsightedness
-TMJ
-PMS (yeah, I know, it’s a monthly thing, but currently I’m suffering)
That’s it…
(SweetLilKitty, I was born and raised in West Chester. Do you go to college there?)
I forgot to mention my irregular heartbeat. Caffeine aggravates it terribly, but I feel it at random moments, too.
** gallows fodder ** yuppers, I go to school at the University.
eczema
rosacea
bad knees
These are all really minor things at the moment.
Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
Nonclassical Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia
chronic sinusitis and allergies
Irritable Bowel Syndrome or something like it
i bite my finger nails
mild apathy
dead0man
Depression
Nearsightedness
Costochondritis
Nearsightedness
Depression
mild OCD
Anxiety disorder
Mitral-valve prolapse
Allergies
Dry skin & rashes (probably allergy-related)
Teeth & jaw problems galore!
An ever-so-slight (but yet-present) lisp
Stupid Hair Syndrome
Lousy skin (TMI)
Had ambliopia as a kid - it’s been corrected, but I’ll never see any of those “Magic Eye” 3D things unless I have corrective surgery. And THAT ain’t gonna happen, thankyewverymuch.
Somewhat pigeon-toed. It’s more noticeable when I’m tired. Oh, and I just looooove it when people point it out to me. Yes, I’m fully aware that I walk sorta funny sometimes. Thanks for noticing.
Bruxism (grinding teeth at night, usually due to stress)
I was told often when I was young that I am pigeontoed. I think I still am, but, like drewbert, it’s more noticeable when I’m tired (or tipsy). Nobody has actually pointed it out to me since I was six or seven, but then I don’t get out much to socialize with people for them to notice my feetses. I think Gunslinger has noticed but I may have pointed it out to him myself. It’s not major.
Like Nocturne, I also have a lisp - not debilitating, not incredibly bad, I’m not Gopher from Winnie the Pooh (he’ssssssssssss not in the book), but it’s there. And it’s worse when I’m embarrassed. So whenever anybody notices it and says something to me about it, I get embarrassed, which makes it worse, which makes me more embarrassed, and so on and so forth…
I also have allergies and occasional asthma-type symptoms that have been linked to the allergies. I have a puffer for 'em.
- asthma
- anaemia
- chronic back injury
- heart murmur
- nearsightedness
- migraine headaches - you know, the They-Have-To-Hospitalize-You-And-Put-You-On-An-IV-Drip kind
- multiple concussions
I think that’s about it - I’ve had a couple of pretty nasty back injuries, but exercise mostly keeps those under control.
Oh - I forgot to mention this really nasty hole in the bottom of my foot where I steped on a big metal spike last Thursday.
Ouch.
Uh, depression (Say, is there a trend developing here or is it just me?)
Mild social anxiety disorder
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Gilbert’s Syndrome (I get jaundiced when I’m really stressed out)
And I’ve got a hole in my mouth where they yanked a tooth out today.
It’s possible that I have ulcerative colitis; my father has it and studies have shown that often fathers pass it on to sons. It probably won’t manifest itself for a while.
Tendonitis in both my knees, and my right shoulder has been bothering me after I fell off a dirtboard, I should check it out.
I also might have a problem with my lungs; whenever I get a cold it’s accompanied by horrible bronchitis and I seem to have lost breath capacity a little more permanently after my last bout. Oh well, I’m a teen, I’m invincible.
I used to have flat feet but I got better arch support.
I also have a Superiority Complex, FWIW.
