Doper college football poll

No, because in the end, those polls mean nothing. The top teams will make the playoffs and settle the matter in real games.

  1. Oregon
  2. Auburn
  3. TCU
  4. LSU
  5. Wisconsin
  6. Stanford
  7. OSU
  8. Boise
  9. Alabama
  10. Iowa

I hope Michigan’s schedule rubs off. In 2012, they open with Alabama, then Notre Dame, Nebraska ,and Ohio State. If they run that table, they will be an easy number one.

You seem to be suggesting that a win over Notre Dame means something.

Michigan plays Ohio State as their 4th game?

Here is Michigan’s schedule for 2012. There are a few creampuffs, but their only out of conference are Alabama and Notre Dame. Hopefully by 2012 ND will be somewhat good again.

And maybe we’ll have a defense!

Since we haven’t heard from A Monkey With a Gun, here is the total for Week 10 (Week Three of the Doper poll).

  1. Auburn (65 points)
  2. Oregon (63)
  3. TCU (59)
  4. Boise State (44)
  5. LSU (37)
  6. Wisconsin (33)
  7. Stanford (26)
  8. Ohio State (18)
  9. Nebraska (16)
  10. Michigan State (11)

Others receiving votes: Alabama (5), Utah (5), Oklahoma State (2), Iowa (1)

Thats only 10 games. 8 conference games and 2 OOC.

I have heard that the Big 10 is adding a conference game with the expansion, but I don’t know if that is official.

I got to wonder if that Big 10 schedule was put together before the expansion. if so, I think the schedule will be modified somewhat.

You’re right, my bad. Looks like there will be a few more cupcakes scheduled for September.

“A few more”? You’re calling some of Michigan’s other conference opponents “cupcakes” and “creampuffs”? Which ones, exactly?

Look dude, it’s not at all reasonable to call even weak conference opponents “creampuffs.” A cream puff is an out of conference opponent scheduled in an attempt to get an easy win, not a weak conference opponent that the team is obligated to play regardless and scheduled to play years in advance. And I don’t think Notre Dame counts as a cream puff.

So at the moment, Michigan is 2012 is facing no cream puffs. Zero. Nada. They may yet schedule one, we’ll see.

Based on recent form, there is no reason why anyone would think that Illinois (8-16 last two seasons), Purdue (9-15), and Minnesota (1-9 this season) will be any good in 2012.

  1. Oregon
  2. Auburn
  3. Boise State
  4. TCU
  5. LSU
  6. Wisconsin
  7. Ohio State
  8. Nebraska
  9. Stanford
  10. Oklahoma State

Mostly unchanged from last week except I’ve swapped Michigan State with Oklahoma State.

If I had a say in it:

This might be Auburn’s last week in the top 10. Cam Newton’s suspension must be just around the corner. But until then:

  1. Oregon
  2. Auburn
  3. Boise State
  4. TCU
  5. Wisconsin
  6. Stanford
  7. Ohio State
  8. Nebraska
  9. LSU
  10. Michigan State
  1. Auburn
  2. Boise St
  3. TCU
  4. Oregon
  5. LSU
  6. Stanford
  7. Nebraska
  8. Michigan St
  9. Wisconsin
  10. Ohio St
  1. Oregon
  2. Auburn
  3. TCU
  4. Wisconsin
  5. LSU
  6. Stanford
  7. Ohio State
  8. Boise State
  9. Michigan State
  10. Alabama

After games of 11.13.10:

  1. Auburn
  2. TCU
  3. Oregon
  4. Boise St.
  5. LSU
  6. Wisconsin
  7. Nebraska
  8. Stanford
  9. Ohio St.
  10. Michigan St.

Unchanged from last week, however much I’d really like to punish Oregon for the lackluster win and Auburn for the fact that the back end of their defense is not good, at all.

  1. Oregon
  2. Auburn
  3. Boise State
  4. LSU
  5. TCU
  6. Stanford
  7. Wisconsin
  8. Ohio State
  9. Nebraska
  10. Oklahoma State

TCU’s schedule just looks weaker and weaker as the season goes on. I think LSU gets in the title game over them if the teams in front slip up.

Oregon’s defense looks better and better as the season goes on. 8th in FBS in points against… but actually even better because with how often they score, you would expect the opponent to score more. Their “scoring percentage” defense must be close to the top.

This week’s vote:

  1. Auburn
  2. Oregon
  3. LSU
  4. Wisconsin
  5. Stanford
  6. OSU
  7. Boise
  8. TCU
  9. Alabama
  10. Nebraska

I thought somebody should post the results of our poll before Saturday’s games.

  1. Auburn (76)
  2. Oregon (72)
  3. TCU (57)
  4. Boise State (54)
  5. LSU (46)
  6. Wisconsin (40)
  7. Stanford (36)
  8. Ohio State (26)
  9. Nebraska (19)
  10. Michigan State (8)

Also receiving votes: Alabama (3), Oklahoma State (2)
