Wow. Seven years? I know my ex-sister-in-law’s divorce lasted six years, but only because they didn’t have the money to file. Could you enlighten us as to what exactly is the hold-up to getting on with things, especially since you said the decree was issued?
I clearly remembered this thread. It started a couple of weeks before I filed papers for my own divorce to my best friend in the world after over twelve years of marriage. I hoped that my divorce would be as friendly as this one appeared to be. Luckily, mine was. The paperwork was totally done before the six month waiting period and was totally final in Feb 2006. We are still best of friends so a truely friendly divorce, while still devistating, is possible.
Actually, I had already filed six weeks prior to the OP being posted. It was two weeks before she moved out.
Thanks for the update, herownself. We prefer that when Doper couples have off-board issues, they keep them off-board. Though Cervaise hasn’t been around for several years, he’s still a recognizable name here.
