Doper Kopek (has passed)(Ruble in the MMP) edited title

I’m sorry he’s uncomfortable but he’s feeling the pain and is expressing it. I think it’s good news.
Take care of yourself.

I’m glad he’s continuing to improve! My continuing well wishes to you both. :hugs:

Three cheers for medicinal chocolate; and more than that for encouraging news.

One thing about having a loved one who’s critically ill: it reminds us of how complex each reaction and each movement is. The things we take for granted each day! I’m heartened by today’s news. I’m glad you’re looking out for yourself and enjoying small pleasures. And I’ m still praying for both of you.

Good to hear there’s some improvement. And dive cheeseburgers.

Yay for the good news! Also yay that you benefit from the medicinal properties of dive cheeseburgers and Oreos!

Yay for good news, dive burgers and oreos!

Where does one procure these dark chocolate filled medicinal oreos?

I got them at Giant Eagle but I suppose you could get them anywhere Oreos are sold. No prescriptions are required.

No real update today, pretty much status quo, awaiting results from MRI to be done tonight, and for condition to improve appropriately for yet more tests. He’d damn well better be studying hard for these tests because I told him we will NEVER be going through this again.

Another convent full of nuns has been added to the prayer list, and he knows better than to piss off nuns.

I don’t do this prayer thing very well but loads of good thoughts, warm fuzzies, and good wishes for the best possible outcome are on their way! Thanks for keeping us informed.

By the way, if you hear of an extremely cranky old lady doing bad things to a lady with a walker and a big mouth on (or more likely under) the Route 17 bus, that would be me. She got strike 2 this morning.

Was it Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in Amarillo by any chance? I don’t know a lot about them, but I do know that they’re legit. They’re a residential program for at risk kids from 5-18. One of my Grandpas was a big supporter and left them a modest sum when he died. Looking at their website it appears they are no longer a boys only facility. They say they currently have around 300 boys and girls each year.

You mean Gian’Iggle?

Still pulling for you, kopek.

You, too, Mrs. kopek.

If he hangs where he is for awhile, that’s OK. I understand it’s a slow process.

Hugs to you both, and I’m still praying.

I miss him. Sending you both good wishes.

If you need an alibi, I’ll swear that you were with me, several states away and nowhere near a city bus.

But aren’t all nuns sweet, grandmotherly ladies who comfort you and stuff?? Just kidding - I went to Catholic school for 8 years, so I know about them teaching nuns. Like Sister Gerald, who made kids do pushups as punishment! Or Sister Aquinas, who made kids do MATH as punishment!! You didn’t want to piss them off, for sure!

I feel at one with you dealing with spousal health, altho mine is conscious and mobile, sorta. (MRI tomorrow and consult next week for spinal surgery #9. Good times…) We’re both pulling for you. **kopek **sent my sweetie a bag full of Harley t-shirts a few years back, and they were a big hit. Something tells me the two of them together would cause a wee bit of mischief.

I recommend doubling the dosage of Oreos, and perhaps adding some equally medicinal ice cream on the side!

Sending warm and fuzzy thoughts your way! Tell Kopek that the faster he recovers, the sooner he can ride the Phoenix.

At one point, I had 4 aunts in one order and a great-aunt in another. I could tell you stories …

Even better than Oreos - a lovely co-worker gave me my own personal-sized burnt almond torte from Prantl’s.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t ride any coasters – he’s into dark rides, bumper cars, carousels and trains. I am more than happy to ride it for him.
