February in the MMP

In case you missed it, January is over and we’re in the second month of this year.

That’s all I’ve got for now.

Happy Moanday!!

First! Woo-hoo!

More when I get on a real keyboard.

The curse of the new mattress continues. Last night, I crashed early, thanks to Mel, but I woke less than 3 hours later from a nightmare - someone was trying to kill me! It was really upsetting and I wasn’t able to fall back to sleep till after 4, so 7 came too soon, dammit.

SIL was supposed to be off work today. I’ve got an eye appt at 11:40 and he needs to leave here by 1 for work. If they’re not too backed up, I can make it. Unfortunately, **FCD **has an appt at 1:10, so he can’t be here. Not sure what we have to do…

Definitely a Moanday kinda day.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slug abed until seven a.m. 'Tis 39 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 75 and N.O.S. for the day. Second pre-Spring is upon us. The big item on today’s agenda is to spiff da cave. OYKW has a dentist appointment at eight thirty, so he just left da cave to go. Sup shall be chikin 'n rice with vegetative matter TBD.

'Tis February, rah. We could go right into Spring or we could have snow or ice. February be weird.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Huzzah!

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Morning all. Up about 7am, feel good today. Temperature should be near 70F today so the HVAC may get a rest, but rain forecast for tomorrow.

Day’s activity is to start putting stuff back, most on the walls and in the bookcases. Probably should mop the floors, but that’s a task I can put off for a little bit (like maybe to March…). Wednesday the desk folks are supposed to be by to take out the current desk and replace it with the one I bought–we’ll see. May also make a trip to Home Depot for some odds and ends.

All y’all take care.

Happy Moonday!

It’s a beautiful bright 46 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 64.
So why am I not at the park?
Just got home, Echo is in heat. So we won’t be going to the park for two to four weeks.
I thought about taking Ripple without her, but I think she would go berserk.
Then she has to get spayed.

It’s supposed to rain later today and all this week, so maybe staying home won’t be so bad.

I’ll use my park time to get some stuff done around here and get started on the dreaded T-word.
I think I already have everything I need to get them done.

This morning, Roxy is having her first bowl of dry cereal with milk - corn chex - and she seems to enjoy them. Yay for more breakfast options!!

Meanwhile, I’m showered and dressed, and in about 2 hours, I’ll head out to my eye appointment. Still not sure how we’re going to deal with his work and my appt - I’ll wake him around 11 if he’s not up before then (recall, he works nights) and we’ll figure something out.

He was supposed to have Mon and Wed off starting this month, but apparently it’ll be next month. That’s the only reason I scheduled for today. Dammit. If they’d told me by Sat, I could have rescheduled. Oh well…

Up, caffeianted, and sheveled. It’s gonna be 70 today, which means I can open the windows and air the place out.

I celebrated last night like the Packers won the Super Bowl.

It’s the MMP. It needs no reason for confusion.

Server timeouts last night, so I had to save this one for today.

The cats no longer have access to the grass since I made the catio. (Actually, Goo has never been in the yard.) I buy wheat grass at the supermarket for the kitties. Tonka occasionally sniffs it, but doesn’t eat it. He’d rather look longingly at the real grass in the yard. Goo loves the wheat grass. She really chows down.

So yesterday, Goo was nom-nom-nomming the wheat grass by the catio doors. She always chitters at birds. She wants to catch them! She even chitters at crows, which are rather big. Anyway, she’s munching on the grass when a young bald eagle (no white head yet) came swooping low over the creek behind the house. It turned away before it got to our property line because of the trees. Poor Goo ran across the catio and hid under my chair. Mom let her inside the house. I guess that bird was just a little to big for her to chitter at.

In other news, I had some meat that was the wrong shape for aspara nikumaki. I thawed it on Friday and but it in a zip-top back with fresh lime juice, olive oil, cumin, chile powder, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Yesterday when the Super Bowl stared, I heated up my large cast-iron frying pan and threw in red bell pepper, green bell peppers, and onions, which I had chopped earlier in the day; and the beef that had been marinating for a couple of days. Mrs. L.A. had her fajitas on corn tortillas, and I had mine on low-carb flour tortillas. They were good. (But corn tortillas would have been better.)

Wouldn’t you know - I got right in for my eye appt, and the woman doing the order was fairly fast, so it turns out I didn’t need to take SIL’s car after all. But, of course, had I driven my car, the story would have been different…

Anyway, I’m back, having pulled poke in a tortilla. Roxy is napping. Life is good.

Every time I think I am done with da jungle for a while I run out of something else.
I needed to order my mother another birthday present anyway. She will be 84 on Thorsday.
I am out of aspirin, and I’ll need some dog food soon.

It’s already in the 60s here. I’m going to open the windows for a bit.

This morning I dreamt I read a post announcing the death of a Doper. I checked, and there is no user registered as Fiat Master. whew

Speaking as someone who did this kind of thing on the regular, take the babby with you…

Last week was A Week. We had a lot to deal with in terms of my MiL’s death. We also had the new puppy arrive. Akiko was initially happy to have a playmate, but that all changed at bed time. We had to move him to my daughter’s room, because Akiko was very unhappy to have him staying in her room. She is now sharing toys, he sleeps in our room, and they play with each other until they both fall over from exhaustion. Yoshi!

This week I am due to have a spinal procedure tomorrow, which will necessitate 3 days of bed rest - lay flat, out to use the bathroom only. The following two days, however, I am supposed to have a 2 day infusion. I am trying to sort out whether they will permit that, or if I need to cancel something.
Happy Monday everyone!

**Sunny **- moot point now. I got there and back again while the baby was napping and before SIL had to leave, tho he did meet me at the door to take his keys and go. He likes to arrive early.

I was going to take Roxy to the playground next to where my daughter teaches, but nap time continues and Daughter needs to get to the Math Lab for help with her Calculus, so that won’t happen. I refuse to wake a sleeping child if it’s not absolutely necessary.

Supper tonight will be assorted leftovers - I need to clear the fridge. So goeth my day!

Wifey did something to her back yesterday and slept in my recliner last night 'cause she couldn’t roll over in bed. (My recliner has a lever to raise and lower the foot rest.) She’s still there, but awake. I’m fetching things for her, but eventually I need to get dressed and go to the grocery store, I think. Nothing else going on here. I think maybe pizza for dinner. I just found out that Domino’s has a philly cheesesteak pizza. I am intrigued.

Hope your procedure goes well and everything gets sorted out Sunny. And cute puppeh!

Happy Moanday to all y’all worker bees.

Irk was FUN FUN FUN --------- mostly because an annoying coworker is a MAJOR 49ers fan. And he decided to take the day off. Which gave us 5 hours to plot in complete safety. I already packed all my war-paint for tomorrow. And every appropriate looking feather from my fly-tying materials. It ain’t going to be PC but we’re going to run with it like the wind.

Cute pup, Sunny! Glad Akiko is adjusting well. And hope the medical stuff goes well.

If we ever have a MMP get-together, I vote flyboy to do the cooking, perhaps with an assist from swampy and FCM.

Sari, happy early B-day to your mom–84 and just getting started.

Bought a new 3-light floor lamp, which I have probably put together wrong, but will work well with the new sectional. Think I have identified my new ceiling fans, just need to arrange for someone to install them and remove the old ones. Loew’s cost on-line were much higher than the total cost of the fans, so I won’t be using them. Home Adviser had an offer, but not going to work via them until I have the fans in-hand.

Still haven’t started to put stuff away/up on the walls, but I’m going to…promise.

Oh–found my missing car keys, they had dropped down between the drivers seat and the center console and I had to dig out a lot of…leftovers…to get to them, but I no haz spare keys.

All y’all take care.

If you are ever in this region try a pierogi pizza; trust me.

It’s the first half of the month, so it’s irk, irk, IRK! Companies’ accounts receivable data are pouring in, and of course these are ‘high priority’ members because they have group meetings they need their reports for. And my boss is retiring in July, so I’m picking up her functions as her replacement; pulling credit reports, scanning documents, saving the scans, filing the hardcopies, adding notes to our system…

Pierogi pizza? I lurves me some pierogi, but on pizza? I’d have to be convinced.

Roxy and I went outside for a while - to swing on her swing, visit Grandpa, then walk around the yard. She picked up a big stone off the driveway (a small river rock is more like it) and she was pretending to pick bits off it to eat! She even “fed” some to me - that kid is a hoot. But now she’s having graham crackers while watching Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.

I was looking at all that has to be done in the yards come spring. I’m exhausted already!!! But looking forward to it. I can break it up to a series of small jobs since I don’t have to cram all the work into a weekend. I’ll need to get brave and use the chain saw, too. I’ve done it before - I just don’t like to.
