Sat outside for a bit today, I wish I had gone out earlier.
If it is this nice tomorrow some yard irk will be getting done.
I don’t know when it happened, but the neighbor finally did something about the missing window. I assume it was done today sometime, I noticed it this evening. It’s just a piece of plywood but that is better than nothing. It should keep the squirrels and the birds out, along with the wind, rain, and snow.
I upset my son while driving him to school.
Somebody parked on side of the road, wasn’t even all the way off the road, the passenger got out, looked right at the car in front of me, opened the back door right into traffic and bent over to get something out of the back seat. The guy in front of me could swerve to miss her. I couldn’t move over a lane because there was somebody next to me. I called her a dumb bitch. Forgot my window was down. She and the driver both turned to look at me, my son was mortified. I’m just glad I was able to squeeze over enough to avoid hitting her.
It is a mess out there this evening. Lots of people out walking, and many of them don’t look before stepping out into the street.
My name is Mikey and I do indeed hate everything so consider yourself convinced.
Some are better than others to me; I ;like the ones from Fox’s Pizza Dens and Mel’s in West Kittanning when they have them (usually as a special) but the freaking things actually work.
Johnny, those of us with smaller critters have to look out for hawks and eagles. Anywhere Nelson is off leash outdoors, I keep an eye on the sky.
sunny, Yoshi is a cutie! Skritches from me and virtual butt sniffs from Nelson.
ruble, do they just put the pierogi on the top of the crust with onions or what?
Well, I think I done pissed off the receiving supe out on the floor. The half million smacker loss in January can mostly be attributed to receiving issues. Seems like we’ve been receiving phantom LCMs (we supply vendors, including one that we own for fixing your phone, tablet or laptop). It was a dead give away when we received stuff in November / early December that the vendor hasn’t invoiced. He made an attempt at chewing me, but I referred him to my manager. That’s what they pay him the big bux for.
Ma Nature is having a hot flash, it seems. It was 71F when I drove home from irk today. On the THIRD freakin’ day of FEBRUARY!
It varies but its usually with a sort of cream sauce somewhat/barely like a white pizza or a seafood pizza. With some melted butter and onions mixed in so some degree.
Here’s a linky to a home-made version we’ve done. I play with it adding some garlic and stuff but the basic is there.
Oh, we got that kind around here as well. Not my favorite but again with a good white sauce ----------- it ain’t bad.
(Although its better to third/quarter them than go whole unless you got some local church ladies making some minis. Don’t use commercial minis; they suck.)
I reheated my steak and collard greens for dinner. I used the toaster oven, and I added some salt and the Cajun seasoning I always have on-hand when I re-heated it. It was good Saturday, and much improved by the spices.
If you’re interested in the Cajun rub:
1 tsp cumin seed (ground)
2 tsp dried basil
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp dried thyme
2 TBSP chilli powder
Big pinch pepper
Big pinch salt
Of course I always multiply the recipe, for situations like wanting some on a steak.
ruble, like Moooooooom, I was envisioning a pie with little dumplings on it. The filling, onions and white sauce actually looks good and much less time consuming than actually filling the dumplings.
Evening all. Went out and bought four ceiling fans at Loew’s (I like the service at Home Depot better, but they didn’t have the combination I wanted). However, they would charge about $650 to install about $500 of fans, and I think I can do better than that. Meanwhile they can sit in my car just fine. Meant to use my debit card (which I’ve tried to use solely for my Home improvement program) but ended up using my credit card–brains is getting old.
Didn’t feel like fixing anything and only had about $7 in my pockets, but did have a couple of Xmas 5 Guys gift cards so…
Several more stops tomorrow and I really, really am going to start putting things away on 2day…
Nah; duct tape her to the wall; can’t get into anything if they’re duct taped to a wall.
I read that with an ‘e’ instead of an ‘a’
I can more than hold my own; especially outside cooking but I don’t talk about it much. Ruble, you especially would like where I went this weekend. We went to 20th Century Cycles. It’s kind of a [del]museum[/del] display, with working shop of (part of) one Piano Man’s collection. Got to talking with the curator/repair shop person; looked up, it was an hour after they are supposed to close. Apparently, we have a history & have crossed paths & done some of the same events back in the 90s. Got some good pics, too.
MMMmmmmm. I lurves me some pierogis, (also pasties.) I printed out a recipe and might try making my own someday.
We didn’t have pizza tonight. Wifey suddenly remembered that she wants to cut down on carbs. She gets this way periodically, which makes it hard on me to come up with ideas for dinner. Most of my tried and true recipes that I’ve been making for almost 50 years are not what you’d call ‘low-carb’.
ok here’s some background in 1990 my aunt loaned a relative some money and it never got repaid and she was kicked out of her house and they ended up living in a campground for a month So mom helped her find a house well they had some neighbors they became friends with who owned the house we live in now
well the owner lived somewhere else and the relator company that took care of the place was a bag of dicks so our landlords dad who owned the house said since my cousin and nephew were disabled they could move in here for 350 pretty much permanently but somehow no one ever put this in writing so when he went into a nursing home and passed they started raising the rent but not bu much because we only pay 640 …in so cal but there’s a catch … there’s so many non coded add ons and wiring and such nothings really legal so they couldn’t sell it
Well, we were informed that now because their youngest son wants the house and we have 6 months to a year to move now when this was brought up last year we were told hed have to have a job for a year even before it was considered which he’s never had a real job other than some karate studio thing .that didn’t go anywhere Wel apparently moms having health problems and his Gf doesn’t get along with family and we have 6-12 months to move …
rents almost 2 k a month for what we have here and there are bills that never quite get paid off …
Almost 30 years of stuff and such …things are gonna get s—y real quick <sighs>
And I still say you have to see Bill’s Old Bike Barn in Bloomsberg; not just for the museum but to meet Bill Morris as well. I think you would enjoy the experience.
Got up early for the Iowa results. :smack: Should have slept in.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 73 and cloudy for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. Sup shall be leftover chikin’ 'n rice, green beans, and baby carrots from yestiddy. Good thing both of us will eat leftovers. Other than that, I foresee a pretty chill day.
Sunny hope the procedure goes well and new puppeh is a cutie!
shades so y’all will have to move? That does well and truly suck.
MetalMouse I have a couple of good local handypersons (one of which is a woman), who are great with stuff like installin’ ceilin’ fans. We bought new ceilin’ fans durin’ the great remodel and called on 'em to do that as well as put together some new storage cabinets. I’d much rather pay somebody for that than do it myself.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
I almost had a decent sleep - I woke a bit before 4, but no one tried to kill me, so there’s that.
I was thinking about our weekend at the ocean and I was wondering about who’d wrangle Roxy in my absence. Luckily, SIL is off Fri and Mon, so no problem there. And we don’t have to rush back on Moanday - we can wait till the DC commute is over. Supposedly, we can’t check in till after 4 - I’m pretty sure that’s their summer rule, but it won’t be an issue. We’re going to St. Michael’s first to wander thru their museum for a while. Then there’s a gallery open house that I’m hoping we can make - it’s 5-7 and not far from our hotel.
I’m amazed how many people commute from the eastern shore to DC for work. Heck, my cousin the nurse used to commute across the Bay Bridge before she retired. To me, that’s a little slice of insanity, but I guess if you really like where you live, you put up with the drive.
Anyway, that’s for Firday. SIL is off today and I’ve got errands to run. Plus I’m hoping to gather all our tax documentation for the accountant. I think everything has been delivered. We shall see.
It’s a cloudy 61 degrees outside.
No park today
The dogs aren’t giving me a fit about it, so that is a good thing.
I wanted to sleep in today, but somebody’s car alarm went off - twice - around 6:45.
Very annoying.
So since I am home I’ll be irking a few extra hours each day, and try to get some stuff done around here. I don’t kow about irking in the yard today, it looks like it’s going to rain any minute. I will sit outside since it is warmer, that will make the animals happy. Even the cat is happy when I sit outside.
Morning all. Didn’t feel real good when I woke up, but once I got myself out of bed I started feeling better, so OK. Raining outside now, it’s supposed to rain all day, tonight, and 80% chance tomorrow. Need to do some banking and make a couple of stops, but most of the day should be inside. Temps going to 64-65F today, so there is that.
FCM, enjoy the long weekend out.
swampy, added laundry to my list for Firday, because I didn’t have anything down there.
shady, never good to have to move, especially after years (and lots of dollars), but at least they are giving you plenty of time (instead of saying 'be out by Moanday or we’ll call the cops–there are people who would do that). Good luck on finding something reasonably priced.
I made a quick run to Food Lion before Roxy got up - she was nearly out of milk and I wanted to score some more of the cheap TP - the sale ends today. That’s all I had to do. Everything else today is voluntary!
It’s raining, and it’s supposed to continue on and off for the next 3 days. Theoretically, we’ll have a couple of nice days this weekend, but even if we don’t, we’ll have a heated pool and a hot tub at our disposal, plus no critters, no cooking, no cleaning!
SIL will probably take Roxy to have lunch with Daughter. And since he’s off today, I need to plan enough food for all of us. Decisions, decisions…
