Doper memes that I wish would just go away

I have to confess that I had no idea about ‘teh’.

Where the hell did that come from? What’s the joke?
mmm

It’s a common typographical error of the word “The”. And it’s not generally supposed to be “Funny” when used intentionally, more of a wry smile or wink.

It’s much like referring to the Internet in plural (“Internets”)- it’s not supposed to make you fall about laughing, but it’s a sort of knowing, wry in-joke or catchphrase, of sorts.

I’ll jump right on that.

“Random poster who I have never heard of” on the net wants me to make all my posts conform to his idiotic biases.

Check.

Yeah, trying to enforce arbitrary posting styles is teh lame.

I checked with Duran Duran, and they told me I didn’t have to!

For some reason, reading “title says it all” as the first words in an OP irritates me immensely. Because not only does the title not say it all, but the poster almost always acknowledges that by typing a whole bunch of words right after that phrase.

Ewe first.

People posting every detail of their cats’ lives. “Ooh, look at this picture, my cat just batted that piece of string. Isn’t that cute?” The only thing that would be worse is if people habitually posted details about their babies’ lives.

Oh, you’re bahhhhhd.

Dammit, where’s the like button at this place.

I told you, newbie, I won’t stop “nuke it from orbit”. So deal with it.

So far nobody has commented on one-word sentences used to “cleverly” create emphasis.

Biggest. Annoyance. Ever.
mm

See. the. OP.

Chuck Norris nukes Zombies from orbit.

Who the heck is PaulAvery? (need answer fast!)

That’s a Scott Adams thing, not an SDMB thing.

I. Am. The. OP.
m. m. m.

I quite agree.

But just now I was walking past the hospital gift shop and they had a table of Easter sale stuff laid out, including these adorable toy stuffed lambs, and the very first thing that popped into my head…

The Dope has a lot to answer for.

Finally, one I can get behind.

Even worse when they talk about their kids, (username)lad and (username)girl.

I mean, it’s one thing if your spouse/child has an account here and you’re using their actual board name, but this “let’s pretend my username is my real name and the name of everyone in my household is a variation on it” thing is so played out.

Maybe they don’t want to use real names (in the case of kids) For SO’s I find it endearing/cute. YMMV
