It was a gray crappy morning today as I dragged myself out of bed and went to the post office to mail my Secret Santa. Imagine how my day brightened as I opened the package containing this jolly fellow!

I received Eleanor of Aquitaine’s ornament today. Holy crap, it’s beautiful. I can’t do it justice in words. I’ll take a picture of it tonight and post it…it’s absolutely gorgeous.
Hand-made by her grandmother, I guess, and she made thousands more during her life. I love it, Eleanor, thank you.

I received my ornament from gigi today! Thanks for the cheerful stained glass snowman, gigi! He now resides on my south-facing living room window, waiting to catch some rays as soon as this current bout of rainstorms pass through.
I love the card you sent too. It features a print of an elaborate paper cutting (scherenschnitte) in Pennsylvania Dutch style with hearts and flowers and birds (distelfinks) by Marilyn R. Diener. This picture is not the same design as I got but will give folks an idea of what I’m talking about. I’d provide photos of both the card and the snowman if I could.

Speaking of hats. The one on my little snowman is glowing a deep red in the sunshine just now and his eyes and his buttons are a little bit twinkly too. Cute little guy, he is.

My ornament package went out today Priority Mail, I hope that it gets to it’s destination before Christmas.
I gots an ornament!!! Yay me!! and yay Anaamika!!! It’s a pretty thing made of glass faceted beads, sort of amber in color. Reminds me of an antique chandelier - once we get our main computer up and running I’ll try to post a photo.
I’m glad I got my outbound ornament sent off yesterday so I could open up my own inbound one right away
