Okay, a couple of housekeeping points - I am, at present, thinking of 1 PM, Eastern Daylight Time, Sunday, October 18th, which would be around suppertime for Germany, late morning/early afternoon for most of us in North America. If that absolutely doesn’t suit, let me know and we can adjust a bit.

In the interests of fairness, I’m not on the list. I’m going to generate the words from the Random Word Generator (Plus), and everyone will get a noun, adjective and a verb from the ‘somewhat uncommon’ list. Probably the easiest way to make sure that everyone gets the same start is for me to post all the names and their respective three words in the same post on this thread, timing it for 1 PM plus or minus a couple of minutes. I won’t create the poll until all the poems have been submitted or the poets have told me they’re out. Speaking of which, I have to try to create a test poll so I’m not messing with the Board at 2:03 with no clue as to what I’m doing.
I think that’s everything - can anyone think of anything I’ve forgotten? Best wishes, and may the muse be with you all.

I agree with this. It would also be interesting to see what different things everyone does with the same words.

That wasn’t how I’d originally thought of it, but there’s no reason not to use the same words for all of the poets. Is that the consensus? Let me know…
I think that would be way more interesting, but I’m just a rubbernecker here.
Come to think of it, having us all use the same three words would be pretty cool and would allow for an apples-to-apples comparison. That has my vote.
Le Ministre – you say you’re not going to compete “in the interest of fairness” – if everyone were using the same words, there’d be no question of bias or whatever in assigning words, so you could participate. Plus that way you could just post the words here in the thread, everyone could see them at once, and you’d have no more than a 30-second head start on them.

Using the same words will make it more interesting for those of us who are spectating.
Maybe, like the Feuds, have everyone on their honor not to read others’ poetry in the thread before posting yourself, AND no editing once you’ve posted?

Can you post the time and date in advance, so we can be prepared? Otherwise it will come down to who happened to be online at the proper moment. Can we make it like a Sunday evening or something? Oh and I too vote for everyone using the same words.
Having never done such a thing before, I’m willing to give it a try.
But I’m not sure I understand. We do it, all together, at once, like live?
I’d love to participate, but have a hectic weekend ahead, it will be hard to predict if I can come, if it’s a ‘live event’, at the correct time. But I’m sure gonna try!
