I did get your earlier email, FairyChatMom, sorry for not responding sooner. I’m bad about that.
I won’t be able to make it on the 16th. My husband and I were already invited to a cook-out that day.
Please keep me in mind for another Doper Wimmens get-togther, though. I’d love to meet with you.

And, JC, I’m thinking that Lady Chance definitely qualifies as an honorary Doper, at the very least. I’m thinking someone needs to extend her a personal invitation to this little get-together.

Well, I’ve sent email to those who expressed a modicum of interest, plus Ginger, just to irritate her. I included parking info with the driving directions. I suppose I should have included the phone number at the boat - methinks another email will be going out later.
I forgot to mention - even tho it’s a brown bagging lunch, if you want to bring something to share, do feel free. I do ask that you bear in mind that the fridge on board is a small under-counter style, so there’s no room to store much in the way of perishables or ice cream. Just so’s ya know!
OK, one last bump - I promise. I have received only one email reply confirming attendance. If it’s just going to be two of us, then I’ve got enough ice in the freezer, but if more of you are intending to show up, please let me know so I can prepare.
And any MADoper Wimmens seeing this thread for the first time, if you want to lunch with us, send me an email and I’ll send directions and stuff. Saturday, Aug 16, noonish. All the cool kids’ll be there!

I was a definite yes on this lunch, until RTFirefly posted his Bluesclan farewell party announcement which is the next day.
I will try to rearrange my weekend projects so that I can attend both events.
I really want to go, and I’ve promised to take The Teenager shopping for school clothes on Friday (my thirteen-year-old cousin who has hit official teenaged-Britney-Spears mode - her mother has given shopping duty to me - yay!), so I’ll be in NoVa. I’m very bad with directions, however, so I’m a little nervous about driving it on my own. FCM, can you re-send me the directions so that I can plot everything on a map? (sorry - I know it’s in my email somewhere - I just can’t seem to find it right now). Thanks!

Anita - please don’t make yourself frazzled on my account! I’ll be moving to the area within a year and there will be lots of opportunities to do lunches and such. But bidding farewell to the Bluesclan is a one-shot deal. Alas, my spousal unit and I are already booked for Sunday, or I’d say I’ll see you there. But such is life.
Weekends are supposed to be enjoyable - chill and enjoy yours - we’ll do lunch another time!
