Since the original attempt at a luncheon kinda fizzled for a variety of reasons, let’s just see if there’s any interest remaining.
Choice of days: Sat Sep 20 or Sun Sep 21, around 11:30 or noonish.
Starting location: Aboard Wandering Star at Harborview Marina in Baltimore. (That would be our boat) Steve has offered to don his captain’s hat and take us for a little luncheon cruise.
Followed by a mosey to the American Visionary Art Museum on Key Highway.
Menu: Brown bag. I’ll supply ice and non-alcoholic beverages.
So, is there interest? Which date works best? I reserve the right to rescind the use of the boat if a work conflict arises, in which case, interested parties could just meet at Harborplace or some such, do the brown bag thing, then mosey to the museum from the other direction.
I prefer Sunday, since my tap class is Saturday afternoon, but if there’s overwhelming preference for the Saturday, I can do that.
BTW, I’ve lined up a non-Doper friend here who wants to check out the museum, so if there is a lunch, I’ll be bringing a civilian – and if this falls apart as a lunch, I think we’ll be going to the museum, regardless, if anyone wants to tag along. (FCM, I’m lookin’ at you.)
Lunch, there will be a chromosomal check – but the museum trip is open to whoever.
(Okay, let’s check my thesis that it’s me – if he reads this answer and runs screaming into the night … er, day … we’ll know it’s me. But really, it’s okay.)

Slow mosey to the AVAM about 1 PM. If a total of 10 of us show up there, wimmins or guy-type Dopers, or non-dopers, we can get in for $5, otherwise it’s $9.
Afternoon of wandering thru the museum, gettin’ all cultured and stuff.
Museum closes at 6. I’ll have to leave by 5 to get my stuff together and get to the airport by 6:30 or so, since I’m leaving that night.
So far, it’s just gonna be me, my sweetie, and twickster.
Put me in as a maybe. My mom will be in town, but I can probably talk her into doing something with Dominic and I’d have the day free. A ride would be appreciated but not necessary (giving my mom the car would be a good thing.)
I dunno. Dave has a work appointment on that day - weird for a Sunday - and I have to sing at mass in the morning. I’m probably going to have to miss it, or maybe just come for lunch… I sing at a downtown church, and it’d be a pain to go home and come back downtown BUT I’ll let ya know. Shoot, I’m sorry, ladies! I’m flying out to see my fiance that weekend for a wedding (and the plan right now is to have my engagement ring made that weekend, too), so I won’t be able to make it. I’m really sad I won’t though - I was looking forward to it!
