I tried reading a couple of the shadow boards a few times but I found them sad and depressing. So the fact that someone is calling members of the main board “Derpers” doesn’t really bother me.
No. We have much to learn from them.

Are you for real? I mean, I was aware that several current/former dopers made their own boards, but I guess I thought they just wanted to do their own thing, not exist to mock the dope.

Though someone who hasn’t heard of the Straight Dope would probably think “Doper” is insulting. 
It comes from the term Herp Derp. It’s internet slang for dimwit.

I’ve been a reader of this board for about 9 years and a registered guest for about 3 or 4. I read the 'raffe and snacker boards too. I’ve even been a snack target a time or two but honestly I don’t even register being referred to as a durper. Maybe I self identify as a doper less than than many here.
