I think it was a combination of having to care for an elderly mother and working on a new book - just swallowed up her time. I also miss her.

In addition to the job issues, wasn’t she expecting? that might well swallow up a lot of time…
She actually kept posting for a little while after her baby daughter was born. I assumed she’d gotten too busy what with having a new baby and job issues and whatnot to post.
I always just assume that they’ve croaked.

By-the-by, if I ever suddenly and inexplicably stop posting, you should assume I’ve croaked. Either that or my high school has offered 52 year old dropouts the option to come back.
Master Wang-ka not posting was expected, since he *was *posting his “bread and butter” material after all, but I wish he would have continued posting more conversationally… maybe message boards aren’t his kind of thing.
I miss **Eve **too. Sigh.
I try to keep her locked up for her own good, but ask her and she’ll just tell you that she simply ran out of time to visit the site on a regular basis. Frankly, I think the “being locked up” explanation is much more satisfying.
One thing that this thread does suggest is that a number of worthwhile posters did move to the spin-off boards at the time of The Great Discontent. It shows that it is important to look after your customers.

We had some problems related to chat and being blocked at a growing number of workplaces and decided to move the community to a new domain and over to vBulletin at the same time and partially restrict chat. Mellophant was a fast second choice when our British members let us know that Pachydome would be considered racist. Domebo still redirects to Mellophant though.
We traded PMs awhile back. If memory serves he had a music project he was working on and felt that if it was to succeed he needed to devote his full attention to it.
I agree with you, he was a good guy and I miss his expertise.
I haven’t seen Cervaise around for awhile. I guess telemarketing is keeping him really busy.

Cervaise went to domebo for a bit, but then decided to give up on message boards in general. He still shows up for pub trivia with us in Seattle, though.
