Hamadryad,

I’d just like to point out a few things, if you don’t mind.

a) I started this thread as a way to show appreciation for the Dopers I care about, not to start a “popularity contest.”
b) My friends do know how I feel but I know sometimes they need a pick me up-another reason I started this thread.
c) Finally…I still don’t know why, after dragging me to the Pit before, you still feel the need to dig at me and my friends. If you have that big of an issue with me, then start yet another Pit thread or email me, but enough is enough. I thought after the Pit thread died things were over-they were on my side anyways.

JimB, Chef Troy, Zyada, and all my other DFW friends for welcoming me and giving me a second family.

Scotticher for being my heart. She is the sweetest, kindest, most tender-hearted person I know. I love that she geniunely cares about people. There’s nothing insincere about her and that is so refreshing.

I don’t know him but…

Scylla for posting things that make me laugh until my sides hurt. And then, for turning around and posting something sweet about his wife or getting all serious. I can’t figure you out man, but I love that about you.

:: entering the hall, the door squeaking as I open it… everyone turns in thier folding chairs to look. The hollow click clack of my shoes resonates through the hall as I walk down the aisle and ascend the steps. Standing on a foot stool behind the podium, I tip the microphone and tap it lightly ::

::Stepping off the stool I make for the steps. As I descend, my right stilletto catches on a crack in the old flooring and sends me flying down the steps landing at pezpunk’s feet, my skirt riding up over my hips, my purse goes flying sending lipstick and makeup and tamponsall over the place. Me and my broken stilletto go limping down the hall… click clunk…click clunk…::

TechChick (duh): I think she’s brilliant, and interesting, and I love interacting with her. She adds a nifty type of spice to the Boards.

ExTank: You can’t have a Gun Control debate without 'im. He’s extremely reliable with his information, and likes to make sure that he can back up the things he says.

Unclebeer: Same as ExTank. And he’s got this great gruff quality to his demeanor that is rather refreshing. Additionally, his nickname, “Unclepee”, always gives me the giggles.

Mercutio: One of the few Dopers I’ve met. He’s got a great mind, a great sense of humor, and he brings a lot of fun. Plus, he’s very dependable, and is willing to stick up for a friend.

Shayna: Another of the few Dopers I’ve met. She puts in a lot of work for the people she’s met on the Boards, and is always willing to share herself with people. Plus, she’s kind of a cutie… :smiley: (right, Spiny Norman?)

Coldfire: Another guy who’s fun to interact with. His sense of humor is backed up by a pleasing intelligence and a sort of bizarre, thousand-mile-long-penis-type nobility.

Johnny L.A.: A big, goofy, loveable guy. His participation in the Boards always brings a unique, Johnny-ish twist. And his new pirate friend, Big Gay Al, is spiffy. And, finally, his birthday is the day before mine.

Fenris: Some people are creative, and then some people are creative. Fenris falls into the latter category.

Weirddave: The only Trekkie who doesn’t get on my nerves. He never fails to rib me on some “Star Trek is better!” sort of reference… but he’s not obnoxious about it. And he plays Diablo II, t’boot.

Esprix: Another of the few Dopers I’ve met. He’s a nice guy, open and honest, and allows his feelings to play close to the surface.

There’re some others, like ssskuggiii (although she changed her name, I’ll always think of her as ssskuggiii), who is a sweetheart who is fun to talk to, but I’ve written enough already.

CrunchyFrog, without whose Welcome Wagon I would have felt unappreciated. (ha ha!)

Astroboy, whose posts I always make an effort to read, just because they are entertaining.

And finally, to all of the Women of the SDMB who have mgnificent, wonderful, funny thoughts on every comment under the sun. It makes me feel good to know I’m in such a good crowd!

Eep. I’ve been putting off posting here for a while, but I guess that now’s as good a time as any.

In no particular order:

Deiket for being the bestest SO ever, even though I always have to order the food.

Zoggie for always being there to hang out with on AIM, and not laughing at me when I told her about my stuffed animals. Also, for putting up with my ranting.

Scotticher for being the most undeniably caring person that I have ever talked to, and for always being fun to talk to.

struuter, who just showed up again! Yay! I hope that you’ll stick around this time, since you ARE one of my bestest buds here.

The PittDopers: Medea’s Child for the e-mails, Guin for always having some groovy witty comment, Le Sang for being quietly diabolic (I hope things are going alright for you, btw), SpinneZiege whose name I still can’t spell, and mrblue, who should be an honorary PittDoper.

Scylla for being my hero here, and Fenris for being almost impossible to tell apart from Scylla.:stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t been here that long, so while I know there are many good people here, the one that really sticks out to me is Una/Anthracite/whatever she calls herself. [Boston accent] She is wicked awesome [/Boston accent]…and I do not say that merely because of my…ummm…“fascination” with lesbians…although she does have excellent taste in the pics she uses for her own board. :smiley:

Oh yes, and her girlfriend Fierra is pretty cool too.
