Well, I adore you, Astroboy.

I also adore my Vixen sisters, including the lost one. I think jarbaby is actually another lost one and I just happen to adore her too, so that works. Same for TP.

There’s a few mods I adore, but I don’t want it to go to their heads. :wink: Besides, they should know by now.

Fenris and Scylla (in alphabetical order) make me laugh or, even better, make me think.

Vestal Blue, Tygr, Sir Rhosis and Verrain never fail to cheer me up and make me feel special when I really need it.

FairyChatMom (for being herself), CrankyAsAnOldMan (who isn’t really), robgruver (who has many traits I admire), Persephone (who owes me lunch and I owe her a grope), Nocturne and 'punha and Sapphire Bullet and Dire Wolf for made me feel right at home when I first got here. Tequila Mockingbird, Esprix and matt_mcl for just being cool, smart and fun people.

Medea’s Child, purplebear and Scotticher for being the caring sweethearts that they are.

All my Amber players(who need to post more or this game is going to last a year!), Speaker for the Dead, Kat, Aghris, glee, Cumber, Maeglin, JeffO.

Phooey. This is way long and I know I’ve missed names. Hell, I adore pretty much dozens more.

It is one of the shames of my “Straight Dope life” that I never stepped in to say some good words about Arden a few months back when she and the other lady were subjects of a Pit thread. I put it off, telling myself that I wanted to marshal my thoughts before jumping in, and then the thread died, and I was left somehow feeling, no, make that “knowing” that I did not stand up for her, knowing that I am far less than I aspire to be.

I have corresponded with her regularly after we disagreed over Belinda Carlisle’s song catalogue. I find her to be intelligent, witty, down-right funny, and yes, probably the most sexually frank woman on the face of the planet. I also find her to be a vulnerable, feeling human being behind the mask (we all have our masks).

IRL, and on this board, I am rarely adored, it’s just not my style. To casual acqaintances, I am not warm or fuzzy. My heart is so far from my sleeve that I sometimes doubt I have one. Therefore to be called “adored” by Arden (hell, by anbody) is indeed a compliment of the highest magnitude. To be told that I cheer her is a compliment of an even higher order.

During the time I have spent on this board, I have come to adore so many people as friends that I always end up with a very LONG list. I am going to have to go with Anthracite(one of the Dopers I adore, BTW) on this one…every time I name names, I end up forgetting someone and feeling like I slighted a valued friend I care deeply for.

I hope that everyone I love knows that I love them. I hope I tell them often enough that they know who they are. I appreciate everyone who has mentioned me here, and I reciprocate their feelings wholeheartedly. I count myself rich in friends, and I bless the day I found this board for many reasons, but for the wealth of love that I have found here most of all.

I did actually attempt to post the names of the people I adore. But…I adore each of them in different ways, for different reasons, and being me, I felt I had to explain how wonderful they each are in their own unique way. I actually got to the point where I was going to have to send and start a new post because I reached the end of the limit for characters in a single post. So I decided that you all were probably not interested in spending the rest of your Saturday reading about how wonderful my friends are.

Besides…they are all so absolutely terrific that you all recognize it anyway, I am sure.

So…

You know who you are. I love you dearly, and I hope I never have to find out how to live my life without you.

Odieman is probably the sweetest guy on the board and I left him off not once but twice. I’m sorry Keith and the above words aren’t just hollow ones. You’re someone who’s always there for others, regardless of your own situation and willign to see the good in someone else. You deserve every happiness in this life.
