twickster and anyrose I hope you guys will follow along in both Doperville and Cecilvania. They are very different games and following along from the beginning (as opposed to reading it in retrospect) should give you a better idea of what to expect. You may enjoy it more with perfect knowledge of who is what role so that you can see how a skilled player with a power role blends in while still using his power.
Also, for everyone else. I’ve spent the last several days focused on getting Cecilvania started. Can anyone give me a synopsis of what happened in Day 1 of Doperville? I skimmed through, and I saw that Thing Fish was on the chopping block when votes for anyrose came out of nowhere. Coin flip killed anyrose. Any important details or role claims I missed?
Thats what confuses me; I thought I was playing a little on the fence; I didn’t do anything that was a power role tell either that I know of. Kinda boggled, with better targets out there. Unless at least one of those better targets is scum.

The only reason BLAM didn’t die last night? It just means the Scum isn’t made of completely NEW Players. They have at least one experienced person in the group. However, ANYONE could qualify for that INCLUDING Ryjae. It’s the point I raised (when I was scum) vs. Bufftabby in the last Doper Game here. On the final day she accused me of killing X and basically only mentioned One side of the whole wifom argument.
Whenever someone does that it makes me suspicious. Because that means either they’re OVEREAGER, or they’re pushing an agenda towards me and I want to know WHY.
Ryjae is more in the Pushing Agenda category than the Overeager category right now.

underlining mine. That itself is a good reason to think you might be a powerrole trying to keep under the radar. But you did good. Getting yourself killed means that a powerrole didn’t get killed.
Also, scum might not target a higher profile player for the dual purpose of trying to get Town to kill them for them and also fear of Doctor protection (In simpletown scum did the same thing. And they were right. Their aborted choice of Blaster Master was protected the first night).

There are a couple of reasons that I didn’t make a claim. First of all, I was only a one-shot Vig, so I could only kill once. At this point in the game, I wasn’t sure who I wanted to kill and I didn’t want to accidentilly kill a townie. If I role claimed there was a good chance I would get night killed before I had a chance to use my one kill.
Also, at that point in the game I was already “tainted” by the fact that I changed my vote at the last minute on the first Day. Since I wasn’t going to use my kill just yet, there was no way that I could even hope to confirm my claim. So, in my mind, my only hope was to try to last one more Day, see if our “detective” RyJae could get another read on someone, and then try to make a good kill.
In retrospect, there are things that I should have done differently, and I hope to play in another game soon to see if I can have a little more success.
Yeah, the outcome sure wasn’t what I had in mind when I started the game. Since this was my first game, I made a lot of mistakes. In future games I hope to avoid making a lot of the mistakes that caused my death this time.
I know that pretty much from the beginning my gameplay was flawed. Hopefully I can apply the things that I learned in this game to any future games that I play.
Even though I was lynched pretty early on, I still had a good time. Hopefully I’ll be able to play in other games and try to redeem myself a bit.
So welcome to the dead club. Looking from the outside in now, what suspicions do you have? I know someone here mentioned Oredigger, as I did in game, which means I definitly have him pinging me more now…and I’m still curious aobut Thing Fish. Haven’t been following as closely lately though thanks to work and Cecilvania.
I am still really curious about fluiddruid. I know that she said she is busy, but she seems to able to post enough to remind people that I changed my vote, but she hasn’t really said much else…I also thought that it was a little funny that she voted for me right after I placed my vote on her.
As for Thing Fish…I don’t know. Obviously I believed him enough to change my vote off of him, but then he turned right around and voted for me because I believed him and changed my vote. That struck me as very odd.
I didn’t really have a lot of opportunity to follow the Oredigger suspicions since I was so busy defending myself. I will read back through the thread some time over the weekend to see what I think.
He’s gotten quite good at fake claiming in the past (much better than his Mad Hatter Days), so if he does it again as a cop, I’ll be QUITE impressed with him.
But I think his idea of lynching him first, isn’t a good one. Though it’s GREAT WIFOM. But I’d rather lynch his suspect than the cop himself right now… And then hope the REAL cop investigates Ryjae or something tonight.
Though i’d also want to discuss the fact that the existence of a one shot Vig means there’s not just your “basic” roles in this game, but actually some variety going on.
