Fair point. However, IIRC, you went on to explain yourself, you followed it with a lot of pro-town moves. All I’ve heard from him to this point is that he was persuaded by that post but he never explained what about it is persuasive. I’m sorry, but gut feelings just don’t cut it for me. It doesn’t have to be some sort of concrete, but I want more than “it seemed townie”. I want to know what about it seemed townie.
Well between BlaM’s strongly going at me without voting for me which seems highly likely at this moment in time, and the recent vote by peekercpa I have no choice but to role claim.
I really didn’t want to do this and put it off as long as I could but really no use now.
BlaM is town, I investigated him last night.
I am your humble detective.
Now, THIS I find VERY interesting. Remember in the last game, you kept getting hounded for snuggling and not giving your own reasons for voting. Remember how frustrating that was for you? Now you’re turning around and putting that same logic against The Unkempt One? I’m not quite sure what this means, but you’re DEFINITELY playing a VERY different game than you did in Simpletown.
Heh… you know, you’re right. In all my railing against you, I forgot to vote for you. :smack:
Anyway, unless there’s a counter-claim, which I strongly encourage you not to do at this time if he is lying, I think it’s in our best interest to unvote. If he is lying, he’ll either get caught in his lie or get counter-claimed later. In the meantime, lynching him isn’t worth the risk.
As such, I’ll move on to my next most suspicious individual, which is The Unkempt One and, as an added bonus, I’ll actually remember to vote this time.
Vote The Unkempt One
Well I tried to breadcrumb a lil’ tiny bit at the beginning of the day with regards to BlaM being town, of course BlaM is the only one other than me that knows he is town. I really didn’t feel I had much of a choice, I didn’t want to claim this early.
Best I could think of considering you spent your night safely tucked away inside your hut.
So to encapsulate my optimal voting strategy timing:
Getting a vote down today on toDay’s Day (Tuesday) feels about right because a vote yesterday (Monday) on toDay’s Day would have been too early for me while a vote tomorrow (Thursday) on toDay’s Day would be too late. It goes without saying that a vote on the day before yesterday (Sunday) during toDay’s day is irresponsibly early while a vote on the day after tomorrow (Thursday) is way to late to be meaningful for toDay’s Day.
I sure hope the newbs are taking notes (maybe even the vets).
If anyone wants to explain Friday and Saturay, feel free 'cause I am tapped out. I haven’t quite got enough experience to do these days justice.
Fair enough. Maybe we truly do need to have a game solely for newbies. And this is another thread but pairing them up with someone else might keep it moving along at a better clip.
So I make the same choice as someone who turns out to be the detective (which, if true, means that he couldn’t be scum that I am collaborating with), for many of the same reasons, and I still get a vote?
Dang.
I will try to post more after I grill some delicious hamburgers on the grill.
oops…forgot to take the color out of the above post.
Sorry!
A couple of fun posts and now this drama.
Oh, crappity crap crap crap (muttered in the words and tone of Hal Briston.
GD coin toss and I would be wrong again - most likely.
Unvote RyJaye.
Vote The Unkempt One
Why must one of us automatically be scum? Isn’t it even remotely possible that both of us had valid reasons to vote for anyrose?
And one other thing. And if I get crucified for even saying anyhting I will understand. Where in the world has oredigger wondered off to. Helping our fine Koldanar dwarf looking for treasures in the after life?
I really thought that the late in the day vote shifts were really detrimenatal. Now we have a claimed power role in the group (with which I am disinclined from discounting). I think the moxy move is even more apparent now. You did what you felt compelled to do so it is what it is. Your role to play.
The “lickoff”? Are you sure you’re in the right forum? Now we know why you have limited access during the week. :dubious:
And Ryjae’s claim clearly invalidates my idea of the mason connection between him and Unkempt One. At least that banishes one doubt about my vote on him from my mind.
Wow… lots of drama during the night. I’m heading off to school and won’t really have a chance to really think about the roleclaim and who I’m voting for until tonight.
I did want to say one thing regarding Hoopy Frood’s mason idea, though. Although it appears very unlikely at the moment that the two are masons, some games allow the masons to communicate at night like scum. So, unless our mod as specifically said otherwise somewhere, it is actually possible that the masons have developed a strategy.
IF he’s actually the detective. You two could still quite well be scum together. It seems to me that a false roleclaim early in the game (Day 2) might be made with more confidence, because the real detective would be less likely to want to show themselves only having one day of information to give in exchange for being targeted overnight. On the other hand, it makes sense to claim if it looks really bad for you so you can at least get out your one night’s findings.
While that may be what happened behind the scenes, that’s not how that post came off to me.
**BlaM**, I gotta disagree with you here:

I don't see how that's the same reasoning *at all*. When did I ever post a vote by quoting someone else's reasons and saying "me too!"? Whom did I attack for snuggling? Nobody, on both counts. I just don't grok where you're coming from on that.
[Quote=BlasterMaster]

I'm feeling a lot more confident and experienced after the last game. I don't understand why that would be a problem.
You’re right. I had misread this post from our mod:
which was in response to Koldanar’s question if scum could talk during the day. It read it as “only the Mafia can” when clearly it doesn’t say that.
I guess I don’t really see how things happened “behind the scenes” since I was pretty open about asking other people to weigh in with their opinions on things, and since I started to express doubt in my vote for Thing Fish as early as post # 331 when I asked you to clarify what you meant when you talked about anyrose manufacturing reasons to vote against Thing Fish. I think that I have been pretty transparent with my questions and my reasons for voting. I agree that it sucks that I switched my vote so close to the end of the Day, but I just didn’t feel comfortable voting for someone who I thought was town.
Just running some numbers.
With 14 players at the beginning, a mountainous (i.e., no power role) setup would imply at least three scum.
We’re down two Town members toDay, so the current Town population is somewhere around 9 - 3.
I am, for the time being, willing to accept Ryjae’s claim (to be reevaluated on later Days, especially if someone counterclaims) and his investigation result (ditto). This means that there’s probably one extra scum (or a scum with a power role) to balance out the investigator’s power.
Assuming there are 4 scum, we basically only have one mislynch to play with - if we lynch Town toDay, toMorrow we have to lynch right or lose. (I think…somebody please correct me if I’m wrong.)
Yes it looked bad for me, I spent a lot of the day trying to get everyone to look elsewhere. BlaM’s latest post toward me and peekers vote where the catalyst that caused me to come out.
Now for the reason I investigated BlaM, I was torn between investigating him, fluid, or Thing Fish.
I eliminated Thing Fish because he was the closest to lynch and well I found his last posts townie.
I eliminated Fluid because she wasn’t posting much and well BlaM was making a lot of suggestions and leading the town. I felt IDing him as town and/or scum was in the towns best interest at that time. Still do think its for the best because now if I die and you all can be 100% sure on BlaM and that will help town out.
And on that if we have a protective role I don’t want the protection tonight (it is your role to do with what you want though)because unless I’m not thinking right, you protecting me will result in most likely BlaM dying and BlaM is way better at this game than me. And while I won’t be able to investigate anyone because I’ll be dead :smack: it will confirm BlaM as one of us.
I was really hoping to get a couple more townies confirmed before this happened but I drew unneeded attention to myself at the end of the day. While I must admit I was trying to draw a little suspicion as scum so scum wouldn’t target me thinking town would. I wasn’t expecting the shit storm I did receive
