Just got back from the bodacious DopeStock '04. I had told Bambi Hassenfeffer that I’d e-mail my pizza dip recipe, then I thought of some other recipies I’d love to have from the picnic. So, here’s my Pizza Dip, and I wish I could get LabDad’s corn salsa recipe, and earthpuppy’s teriaki marinade, for starters. Bring 'em on!
This recipe came to me from a friend who works at the City. Much to my delight I saw at the bottom of the copied page the name of the lady who first gave it out - who was also a good friend of mine, who unfortunately passed away recently. I always think lovingly of Delores when I make it:
Pizza Dip
1 8 oz pkg softened cream cheese
1 14 oz jar spaghetti sauce
1/3 c chopped onion
1 & 1/2 c shredded Mozzarela cheese
1 6 oz can chopped ripe olives
2 oz pepperoni, chopped
Spread 9" pie pan with cream cheese. Layer with remaining ingredients in order listed. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 mins or until hot and bubbly.
The recipie says serve with corn chips, but Big Papa took some of earthpuppy’s cut up Pita bread and says that’s better. Other variations: add cooked Italian sausage, jalapenos, ground sausage, or salad olives. Try a different cheese.
