I’m considering gnawing my own foot off so I have an excuse to leave work early so I can actually be there tonight instead of tomorrow afternoon . . . The anticipation is killing me!
No calls from Fran or Alex, so I assume they didn’t have any problems checking in to the Ramada.
The AZ/UT Dopers (Diane’s riding with us) should be at the party between 7:30 and 8:00. Looking forward to seeing so many of my Doper friends again and making a whole bunch o’ new ones!
Ok, pizzas, salad and garlic bread are ordered for tonight’s festivities!
Stoid, I’m glad you’re coming and I’m looking forward to meeting you.
Stoid
Ruffian, you guys are welcome to come Saturday night, as well. I’ve heard some rumors that we have 1 or 2 cancellations, anyway, so there’ll be plenty of room. Can’t wait to see you again!
Damhna, you crack me up. I SO wish you and miss tatertot were going to be here. We’ll just have to plan a Eurodope sometime soon. And thank you for the kind praise - you’re the best.
Mr. Calling, YOU will be sorely missed, but you have to tell me if you’re going to put California on your itinerary when you do make it over this way in the next month or two. Hugs right back to you.
Bryan, I’m sure there’ll be a few people who would love to have a tour guide of sorts. Why don’t you just come down to the Ramada Saturday morning and join us?
JavaMaven, do you still need to come to my place to freshen up before dinner? You’re welcome to - just let me know so I can be sure we’re home to let you in!
Rasa, I’ll hug someone for you and have them bring it back to you, ok, hon?
Ok, I’d better finish up my work or I won’t get out of here in time to get the party started!!
Yes, jab, there’ll be pizza and stuff tonight, so come on down!
And thanks for the heads up about LAX reopening to private cars. That means I can take Spiny and Coldy back to the airport and see them off properly when they leave - YAY!
Yes, I’ll still need a place to change and freshen up after work–I get off of work at 4 in Pasadena, and we’ll be coming straight down, which means we’ll get there by 5 (traffic willing). I’ll just need to change and wash my face–that kind of thing, ya know. Thanks for remembering that.
I finished my expense reports ($800 back among five expense reports; I am such a slack-ass when it comes to doing these things) and I’m caught up on my tech support correspondence. I’m fixin’ to head to the airport in about 1/2 hour. Can’t wait to see everyone!
Friday at 4pm stuck in a parking lot otherwise known as the 405 is no fun (believe me I know). These are the plans for Saturday, though, so its all gravy!
Spiny and I just got back from confirming our reservation at El Torito and the manager said he’s going to set our tables up in the front near the bar so that if more people show up there’ll be plenty of room and they’ll just move more tables over for us!
So that means we can accomodate more than 61 people - and I say, the more the merrier! So everyone come, OK?!!
According to www.mapquest.com, the distances from certain American cities to Redondo Beach:
2,672 miles - Baltimore
3,002 miles - Boston
2,746 miles - Miami
2,905 miles - Key West
I don’t know where in Florida Uncle Bill lives, but even if it’s Key West, it’s not as far away as Boston (assuming that’s where Wicked Blue is catching the plane).
