Doritos and peanut butter

Recently I bought a jar of peanut butter to keep in my desk drawer at work. The idea being when I haven’t time for a real breakfast I can put some of this on “crackers”.

This peanut butter is supposedly 100% natural and is quite runny, so I thought rather then use a knife to spread it I could just dip the cracker into the jar.

That worked, so I tried it with some cheese supreme Doritos and OMG, I like.

Have I just invented something? Is this common or weird?

If you want to criticise my palate keep in mind I’m Australian and I like Vegemite and eat Beetroot on burgers.:stuck_out_tongue:

Next, try corn chips with bananas. And peanut butter.

Dip the banana into the peanut butter?

Eat that with a Dorito?

That could work.

It actually sounds good, and I don’t even like peanut butter much.
One of the in-laws eats Doritos with cottage cheese every day, which I always thought sounded terrible but turned out to be quite tasty.

Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey scooped up with Fritos Scoops. Hell, it has banana, that makes it breakfast.

When I was a teenager, I used to walk down to 7-11 grab a big bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos, open it up, and then walk over to the hot dog station and squirt a bunch of that hot dog chili in there.

Pure heaven!

(Pot was involved)

I also like nacho cheese Doritos with picante sauce.

Sounds like those cheese-cracker-and-peanut-butter pre-packaged sandwich snacks, but with a ton more flavor.

Hmm…

They make snack packets of cheese flavored crackers with peanut butter so why not nacho cheese flavor with peanut butter? Sounds good to me. I always liked Doritos with PBJs.

Or I could just have noticed someone else suggested the same thing.

I’m familiar with this dish from my childhood, only in sandwich form. I’m surprised I’m not following up a chorus of people mentioning that, because it was pretty common in the lunchroom when I was growing up. You’d open the peanut butter sandwich, dump fun size nacho cheese Doritos on it, spread 'em out evenly, reassemble and enjoy.

It’s good. I don’t crave it any more for some reason, but it’s good.

I don’t question your palate, just your vocabulary. “Beetroot”?

I think you just call them Beets, we call them Beetroot.

As to the OP - never tried that. Hmm. Maybe I will.

I’m just glad they weren’t cool ranch Doritos, trying to imagine someone combining that with peanut butter must be like looking into the face of Cthulhu.

Oh, I know, it just seems rather unnecessary, like “tuna fish”.

That’s to distinguish it from tuna piano.
