I just posted and recieved the error message ‘Document contains no data’ and was back at the submit post page. I hit submit again and it went through only to find it had double posted.
I am using Netscape v.4.72 and this has happened a few times. The annoying thing is that sometimes the first attempt to post shows and sometimes it doesn’t.
Any ideas? I would just reload the page after the error to check but the board is so slow.

My understanding is that it’s nothing to do with the Browser, and everything to do with the SDMB server’s hamster. Sometimes he just can’t run fast enough, bless his overworked little rodent legs, and he swallows a few posts here and there.
If ya wanna be certain your post went through, without ending up with those embarrassing double posts, you’ll just have to bite the bullet and reload the page to check.
It’s either a rare bug in vBulletin or something caused by the server being overworked, like Duck Duck Goose said.
Don’t you hate it when somebody accidentally posts double – or even triple???
If you hit “submit”, the post will almost always go through, regardless of what error messages it may tell you. If it’s a great masterpiece and you don’t want to lose it, try “preview” on the second submit, and see if it’s already in the thread.
Chronos,
Great idea, I should have thought of it.

BTW, you see my single comment above?
I was trying to be a wise guy and post it three times in a row, to satirize all the times it happens unintentionally.
Guess what.
No matter how many times I submitted it, it only showed up once. That’s right!
Some genius must have recently added a fix to prevent jokers like me from doing that.
So How come we still get doubled posts?!?!?!?!?
