Down doper memory lane, but mind the hamsters

While I’ve been a member since late 2000 and lurked for several months before actually registering, I did something the other night that I’d never thought of doing before. I went back and sorted postings I made, in reverse order, then started reading.

I’m not sure why I did it, or what I expected to gain from it, but I actually enjoyed it greatly. It’s something I can’t recommend highly enough, as it was almost like watching old home movies of yourself. Not fun for others, but enjoyable for you. I found that I originally stuck mostly to GQ, that I dabbled in IMHO and MPSIMS (to be honest, this is my first post in this forum in a LONG time), that I actually praised Bush on September 12th, that my answers in GQ were wrong at times, that a question that I was the only person to answer was actually also answered by Cecil at a later date, etc.

If you choose to follow the path, please do it at an off-peak time, like I did. The hamsters can’t take it otherwise.

Have fun!

I do this all the time, but I don’t always only read my own posts. Sometimes I’ll remember a particularily enjoyable thread and while I’m looking for that, some other thread will come up. I’ve stayed up hours later than I should have reading old threads. I was up until about 4am yesterday. Today. No, yesterday, it’s after midnight.

I’ve never bothered. It seems to me the vast majority of my posts are just wasted space. I don’t usually get many replies even when I do have something positive to add.

I don’t see any reason to remind myself that my posts are utterly forgettable.
