Down to 16 colors???

Oh god, I never have computer problems but I cannot fiigure this one out.

I downloaded and installed Daemon Tools. It prompted me to reboot, I said ok. Now my monitor only displays 16 colors, and you cannot change it in the display settings (as if it is stuck).

I unistalled Daemon Tools, ran all my virus software, and followed the XP tutorials to no avail. (I reallly don’t beleive this had anything to do with Daemon Tools).

Can anyone HELP ME?

16 colors? Those were the days…

Anyway, right-click on desktop and go to Properties. Then, Settings. Advanced. Adapter. Properties. There you should be able to find an option that updates your driver. I can’t be sure since it’s been a long time since I’ve had to deal with this issue.

Are you sure that there wasn’t some problem that forced your system to boot in “safe mode” without really telling you?
Daemon Tools installs some rather low-level drivers because its main pupose is fooling hardware-related parts of windows.

Another method is Control panel -> system -> device manager -> find the video card, double click it -> uninstall -> reboot -> reinstall drivers.

It would probably be in your best interest to find the website for your video card and download the latest and greatest before reinstalling.

Thanks everyone!

The latest and greatest driver did the trick, I can go back to reading webpages without squinting now…

Thanks again
