Any other dopers out there heading to Atlanta to attend DragonCon?
I’ve had my ticket for a while and I’m starting to get a little excited. It’s going to be my first Con of any kind.
If you’re going, be sure to watch out for a rogue group of Tusken Raiders. We’ll be the ones smelling like beer.
I’d really like to… still up in the air since we’re going to Florida two weeks later. 
I’ll be there! Of course, I won’t have to “head for” Atlanta, since I live here.
Maybe we could have a DragonDopefest!
I’m out of work. (I even had to miss Oasis this past weekend, and that’s right next door in Orlando.) If I can afford it by Labor Day, I’ll go!
I will not under any circumstances miss Tampa’s own Necronomicon! I’ll go if I’m dead!
I’m going with my boyfriend. It will be my second DC but for my first one a couple years ago I was sick with a cold and really wiped out for the whole thing. I’ve been to other cons in the past but none as big as DC.
I’m going, if all goes well. I’ve never been to a DragonCon or to Atlanta, so I’m hoping to take in a local sight or two before or after the con, like the aquarium or CNN (NOT World of CocaCola, thanks). I’m also hoping the weather won’t wipe me out. How steamy is it in Atlanta in late August?
Well, that would be appropriate. 
Very, very steamy. The “dog days” don’t get any doggier than they do in Atlanta.
But, contact me off-board if you’d like company for the Aquarium et al. I love escorting visitors around my fair city.
I might be going - haven’t decided yet. I went last year for the first time, and really enjoyed it.
