Dragons and Silver Tears

Thank you, Scotti, how very kind of you to say. And, I firmly believe one can never have too many hugs. Thanks, Trouble Again, for the offer. I’ll keep that in mind.

Oh hon, now I feel REALLY bad that I’ve not been online much recently!

My thoughts are with you. And a large part of the board are with you as well I suspect. Keep your chin up - you have more strength than you credit yourself with.

You’ve got some swords by the look of it so I’ll just offer a magic ring that gives you hugs on demand.

Maybe when all the bad stuff is over, you and your family will have a long sweet stretch of peace, with no pain, only blissfull healing.

I know what you mean about the house seeming empty. When my 9 yr old isnt home, I feel more insecure and afraid at night than when he is home. Its silly, because he is only NINE! But having him home feels 'right’and safe.

I hope you will adjust quickly to your emptier nest.
When I went away to school, Mom sent me these joke postcards: If your feet smell, and your nose runs - you are built upside down! - stuff like that. She sent one every week, I still have them. I think they made us both feel better.

Best wishes to all of yours,
Kelli

Wonderful news!

Now that they’ve figured out she did have a stroke, perhaps she will receive the proper course of treatment and rehab.

Hey PB:
First I thought you were going to talk about me.
Then I thought not. But this thread ended up in my neighborhood after all.
My son recently enlisted in the Navy. I saw him for 2 days after boot camp, and he will be home for 2 weeks around the first of November. But, since he requested overseas duty, and I’m a single Mom, I won’t see him again for I don’t know how long.
This leaves me and his sister and various dogs and cats and a guinea pig. I’ve always known that I was the stability in his life, but I never realized he was the stability in mine. I miss him more than I can say. I feel for you.
Group hugs for everyone.
Debbi

Good suggestions, kelli, thank you. I think I will use them. And, yes, that’s just how it feels, not ‘right’ when he’s not here.

Thank you, VB. We’re hoping so, yes. I’ll let everyone know as we get word.

Dragonlady, that’s just how I feel also, he has been a big stability in my life, especially since Mr Bear’s been gone. I’ve been keeping his bedroom door shut, too empty to face right now.

And, Mr Bear has wanted to post, but is having big problems with his ISP, and is in the process of switching to another one. So, he most likely won’t be able to post for a few days.

Again, thank you, all of you, who have so kindly and generously posted here in support. It means a great deal to us both. I am humbled that so many care about me and my family.

I am very happy to help in whatever tiny way I can, as I’m sure everyone else is.

I’m not usually very emotionally expressive on the Board, and I have never yet used a smilie…but…

WOW. For me? sniffles Thank you, dear. I feel priviledged indeed.

I know this is a little late in the thread, but

I know how hard sickness and death in the family can be, especially when it happens multiple times in one year. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Tough times, purplebear. I’ll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

I just wanted to thank everyone who posted here for their kind words and thoughts. I know Purplebear has really appreciated it, and has helped her, especially since I am not there to comfort her in person. Again thank you all, and we will keep you updated.
