I got up early on a saturday to watch this and I’m already bored. I liked Dean’s little speech (one of the only prominent Dems who’s got a pair), but I can see this becoming tedious really quickly. How long is this going to go on and when is there going to be a decision?
I notice the Fake News Channel has stopped covering this altogether. I guess Dean’s speech must have been too uncomfortable for them. God forbid they show any kind of unfiltered, unapproved, GOP stamped commentary.
A decision today.
Split vote, or half votes counted
The full delegates won’t be sat from either state.
Disclaimer
The RBC does not have to do anything that either candidate asks for, they can simply state the truth - both states violated and are penalized, no delegations will be sat, period.
I doubt that though, I see them giving half to each candidate, Hillary still way behind, this whole thing is over on June 4th.
After further review and a little online reading - I really hope they come to a neutral agreement for both candidates.
Because, if Clinton does not come out at least appearing favorably, I fear she will unleash the bloody dogs [lawyers] onto the primaries which could send this straight to the convention. The problem is I believe the woman’s ego is driving this battle, she would have to stand up beside Obama [soon after he wins the nom] and say he is the best man for the job, when she has been saying fervently all along she thinks she is best for the job. That will be like gargling hydochloric acid for her.
This party does not need that kind of interaction right now. We need a unified party, and we need it on or close to June 4th.
Im not too worried, i think most states are going to realize being near the end of a contested primary makes you a whole lot more influential than being at the begining of a landslide. Florida and Michigan gained absolutely nothing from going first and lost out on the chance of being a key part of the nomination process.
FLorida will be seated at 50% as will Michigan. This will include both pledged delegates and supers. They will award some small percentage of the uncommitted votes from Michigan to Obama. It will be significantly fewer than he would have gotten had his name been on the ballot, but it doesn’t matter. The only way Hillary has a chance was if they seat both delegations at 100% and give Obama zero votes from Michigan and that’s not going to happen.
After all the dust has died down the committee will change the rules for 2012 to make 50% the standard penalty for rules violations.
If you got bored, then other people probably did, too. Why should a news channel carry something that bores people? Sounds like a smart business decision to me.
I agree with others that 50% will rule the day. What a freakin’ waste of time to come to the obvious conclusion. I lost interest even before the started.
All the cable news channels run as entertainment. I’m sticking with smart business decision. Besides, there are other stories to cover rather than this little mastubatory exercise.
