Dream factoids

Does anyone else have dreams which contain odd facts?

Here’s one: Puppies age faster than Civil War soldiers. The odd thing is, I knew in the dream it was BS.

The context was myself (a man) and a bunch of masculine women going back to the American Civil War and joining an infantry unit to see if the women would be treated fairly.

Well, I do have this one odd fact–the special branch of my old high school, where I’m always having to go back and retake a class or two–sometimes just a class session or two–or else my degrees will be invalidated–often turns out to be in really odd places. The last time I had that dream it was up in Stone Canyon, a neighborhood in the Bel Air district of L.A. Oddly, Stone Canyon actually is in my alma mater’s attendance zone.

I’ve had the nude dream on occasion. I’m nude, but everything’s perfectly fine as I go about my business. Nobody else seems to mind or care, and I’m rather enjoying it. Then suddenly it’s “OMG I’m NUDE!!”

With dreams generally it often seems that there is a whole slate of dream factoids that I seem to be remembering from past dreams, but I’m not sure if this happens while experiencing the actual dream, or just at the split second when I’m coming out of it. After I wake up, I can’t remember any of these factoids specifically, but I do remember that they were there.

In what way is it false? Dogs do age faster than all humans, civil war soldiers or not.

But do adult puppies age less gradually than baby non-Spanish American War soldiers? All dogs sneeze, Socrates sneezed, ergo Socrates was a puppy…The humorous aspect of the OP’s example is that it references subsets for no apparent reason.

A couple night ago in a dream(nightmare) I did experience the most terrifying weather ever, though. Cannon tornadoes. For those of you who don’t know what a cannon tornado is, which is everybody in existence except for me, they are horrible.

The sky is covered with apocalyptic clouds in black, blue and purple, and is churning like a pot that is boiling and stirred by hundreds of spoons. And constantly the swirls will explode and extend like a striking snake in a mini tornado shape, and slam into the ground with a sound like a cannon. Then they immediately rebound taking 5 foot diameter core of house, trees, topsoil, whatever was there, all the way down to the bedrock.

That was a shitty dream.
