Just got back from seeing it, thoroughly enjoyed it. Ryan Gosling is definitely doing his thing, lots of staring with little smiles and good with kids, great supporting cast, and though I knew it was violent, I did not expect it to be straight up gore! Him describing it as a “violent John Hughes” movie was spot on. If you want to see it only for Christina Hendricks, though, you will be disappointed. Not even a cleavage shot, and was probably the weakest link, although her role is tiny.
