Anyone seen Half Nelson yet?

One of the best movies I’ve seen all year, along with Brick. Realistic dialogue, subtle directing and two of the best lead performances I’ve seen in a looong time. Oscar-worthy, for sure. Anyone else seen it yet? I know it’s in limited release, which is ridiculous since it’s getting mad good reviews (it’s currently at 70 percent on Rotten Tomatoes).

I might go and try to catch it next week. I was debating whether or not to see it but hearing that the whole soundtrack was Broken Social Scene pushed me over the edge.

I’ll bump this when I see it.

Although I wouldn’t go so far as to say it was the best movie I’ve seen all year, I did think it was a darn good movie and the performance by Ryan Gosling was exceptional. It is almost enough to allow me to overlook The Notebook - but not quite. I really hate that movie. So much. You really have no idea how much I have that movie.

I liked the movie because all of the characters are real people. I also bought the friendship between the two characters and I wasn’t sure that I would. My favorite part is the run in between Ryan Gosling and the Drug Dealer friend of Drey. Good stuff. Satisfying ending too.

This is one of the few movies I’ve seen recently that I want to see again in the theater. Wow. Ryan Gosling is superb. Young Ms. Epps was amazing. So very good, I hope more people will decide to see it.
