Does Droid 2 for Verizon make sense from what you know of Moto’s and Android’s upcoming releases? I would get it for free. It runs 2.2 “Froyo” as of now.
The Droid 2 has already reached end of life. Its replacement, the Droid 2 Global is hitting end of life this month. This doesn’t mean that they aren’t good, just that the company has moved on to the latest shiny thing as they will every 3-6 months.
I have a D2G (running Froyo) and I think it’s great.
P.S. “End of life” is used in the product cycle context–it doesn’t mean that it stops working, but that there’s no new development on it. There will still be support for it and after-market gizmos for quite a while.
