Drunken Rant about the State I Love(d)

California. Something for everyone - beaches, mountains, forests, desert. And Gray “fucking arsehole” Davis. Thanks to Graymatterless and the dems of Cali, I get to move to Georgia. I have nothing against Georgia, I’ve never been there but I’ve heard that it’s a lovely place. So, why am I moving? Because the owner of the company I work for has decided to close up the Cali Corporate office and move it to our Norcross, GA. office. Why, you might ask…or you might not. I don’t give a fuck, I’m here to rant. Well, he’s doing it because workman’s comp insurace will be a third of what it is here, and we’ll get better benefits if we need it. His yearly taxes will be less and he’ll get more for his money.
Other problems. While driving home, I got to listen to Govenor Gumby make a speech before signing sb 60, a bill that allows illegal aliens to get California Drivers licenses. Yes, you read that right. In California, there will be no such thing as an undocumented alien, because any motherfucker who wants a license can get one. This is for highway safety, because somebody who is here illegally will, of course, get tested and get a license and insurance after driving without one for X amount of years  As for anybody who wants to call me racist for the previous statment, fucko off. I don’t care where they are from. Canadian illegals, Mexican illegals, Irish illegals, chinese illegals; I don’t care. No matter their ethnic background, they’re criminals, breaking America’s laws. Hell, I think weed should be legal, but I’m still a criminal if I smoked it.
The worst part, Cali Dems made me consider (when I cared) voting for a fucking Republican. Hell, at least the main Pubbies seem to have a fucking grasp on reality, something I never thought I’d say. You can’t spend what you don’t have.
Well, Rest In Peace, California. I always loved you and I’m going to miss what we had

Peace-DESK

How Drunk are you exactly? It’s poorly constructed and rambling, but otherwise pretty good.

I’m sure you’ll hear from a few of Grey’s kids shortly on this one. They get upset when dad takes a hit. Along with your thoughts, I would like to offer the following as an example of what a lying douche bag this guy is.
From his web page. Here is a snippet.
Gov Scrotumpole’s Web deception

(The emphasis is mine) The cite below is for those who also find this hard to believe.

Mr. D, a 2/3 reduction in fees is not accurate. You are deliberately misleading anyone who reads this. Misrepresenting this sort of thing makes you look more like Black Davis than what ever your name is.
A 300 percent increase is not a 2/3 reduction. It isn’t a rebate either. Do the math dolt.
Personally, I can’t wait to see Mr. D reduced to poverty, standing in line to suck the public boob. I’ll see you get a copy of the picture.
(you and the others could mutiny)

norcross isn’t so bad. near lakes and such. and a suburb of atlanta. traffic sucks, but since your office will be in the suburb, you don’t have to worry.

of course, i’ve never been to cali.

Do the reading dolt.

When you’re done having someone explain the hard words to you, you can then write us a 20-page paper on the difference between the past and the present and how situations change over time. Whether or not Governor Davis is a screw-up has nothing to do with your uncanny inablility to understand such a simple concept. Nor does it explain how, given that you’re apparently obsessively monitoring his every move, you could possibley have not noticed that the statement, as it stands, is correct.

I’m guessing that link you provided was copied and pasted for you, otherwise we’d have to assume that you had, in fact, followed through on searches about the rebate program and are deliberately being intellectually dishonest.

Wait, I thought that all of those things like taxes and workman’s comp laws were “general” policies that never affected individual people!

After all, people can’t get involved enough to vote - saying “It doesn’t affect me - politicians are all the same.” Are you saying that policies enacted by people that you could have voted for are actually changing your life?!? The horror! Individuals might actually have to GIVE A SHIT about elections?

Ooh! Gimmie a sec to get drunk!

Ah, that’s better.

On behalf of everyone living in Texas with half a brain, I would now like to apologize for our state population’s horrible intolerance .

Yay for the 17%!

I feel your pain! Born and raised Cali here (San Francisco, no less), with the good luck to have lived in the UK and Malaysia (each for over a year) and in New Jersey, Colorado, Hawaii, Missouri and Kansas, each for two years plus.

I voted for Davis in the last election while holding my nose. The alternative, Simon, was the best the Republicans could come up with. So they put up a loser and then demanded a recall. WTF?

Atlanta is a great city; you’ll enjoy it. It’s not the same though…and perhaps it will never be. If California is a state of mind and you buy into it, you’ll return some day. I hope that those of us who remain can continue in the direction we were headed.

Good luck on your relocation.

Yes I do follow the situation in California, I am more than likely not alone in this endeavor either. As a matter of fact, there are many people who have an interest and also follow the course of events on several levels. It really isn’t a bad thing to do, I don’t think, Is it?.
Moving on then…
First off, thanks for the help. I had not fully proven my point but you stepped in and did it for me. Your citation clearly showed the truth of the matter, while mine only showed a current inconsistent statement that is misleading to many Californians. Some, who only saw mine, might think Davis had changed his mind and withdrawn that tax increase. If we didn’t have your citation to compare with mine, we would have been mislead. Of course, there may be a few who do not understand the post as well as you do, and think that I was indicating that the fees were raised, by 318%, l like the DMV cite said, but that isn’t on the governors page, so they might not find it.
Now as long as you have proven this discrepancy, (we obviously agree that there is a large discrepancy in the two statements after viewing the two of them) You wouldn’t argue that posting misleading information is a good practice would you? You aren’t planning on supporting the use of deceptive and misleading information in a public arena, are you? These deceptions may not sucker an informed person, but they may catch an uninformed person or even confuse a reasonable person.

That leaves another small point you made that can be clarified by your looking at the following; is a 318% increase greater than a 66% decrease of the same value Is 3.18X greater than 0.33X?
Since we obviously agree there too, let’s go to the last issue.

Past v. Present.
Because I was not clear in my last post, I will make every effort to insure I do better this time. Before I continue then, I would like you to answer 4 relatively easy questions.
Three are true/false, one requires a date.

  1. 2003 is greater than 2002. ? True/False.

  2. Is mm/dd/yyyy the “yyyy” in than 2003. True/False

3 October 2003 is later than 2002. True/False.

  1. Enter the month, the day, and year of the latest election for governor in California.
This format is sufficient - mm/dd/yyyy okay.

When you have answered this we’ll go on. Again, thanks for your help in proving my point regarding the deceptive practices. I’ll look forward to your posting the answers to these 4 questions.
You have a good day now, okay.

D.E.S.K, I concur with straykat23 and jujuju, Georgia is not bad at all. I’ve only visited there, but I could make the adjustment if need be. And if you’re into golf…

Xcheopis, that really was unclear, this should be more clear. I’ve got to be more clear.

  1. Is 2003 greater than 2002. ? True/False.

2.Is October 2003 later than and date in 2002. True/False.

  1. Enter the month, the day, and year of the latest election for governor in California. This format is sufficient - mm/dd/yyyy okay.

  2. Is the “yyyy” in mm/dd/yyyy, above, greater than 2003. True/False

Mooncow-

The problem is that you’re not “getting” it. The page you linked is 100% accurate. Mr. Davis DID accelerate the signing of the reduction of the VLF. Years ago. The page you’ve linked has NOTHING to do with the current increase of tax on licensing.

Also, as evident by your attempt at sarcasm, you have a problem getting an idea across.

Sam

GaWd said it. I believe it. That settles…

Gawd,…

………………You are absolutely sure about this?

  • What is the difference between Gray Davis and the Titanic? .When the Titanic went down, the lights were still on.*

Yes Beryl of laughs, I am sure of this.

Good buy and good ridence. If people keep leaving, it has to get better here.

Hey, I still love the state of drunkenness…

I’m tired of all this stupid Davis-bashing, so tired I don’t care anymore. Yeah, he’s an idiot and a crook. But ALL politicians are crooks. And he got an undeserved bad rap for the energy crisis 2 years ago – yeah, he handled it badly, but I don’t think he was aware of the conspiracy between Enron & the Republican Illuminati. And he was elected twice; if he beats the recall, that will be THREE victories in two terms!

But I know a sinking ship when I see one. So, I urge all CA dopers to vote for Schwarzenegger! Why? Because, in the novel I’m writing, I’ve written in Arnie as the CA governor, and if he loses I’ll have to change it. (Not a critical detail, but it’s really cute and fits in with the whole “Is it real, or is it Memorex?” theme…)

And I wish everyone would lighten up about the illegal aliens. Who else are you going to find to pick our lettuce and tomatoes for 35 cents an hour??

If the CA school system continues it’s downward spiral, there should be plenty of field workers. Like this one:

Lamar: You also made a misspelling in your posting. I guess you’ll be working alongside MrTuffPaws, hey?
