I have the all clear to make a solo trip to Dublin to get a weekend away. I don’t want to stay with the inlaws, because they will wonder what internet freaks I’m off to party with.

What weekends are you all available? The only weekend I cannot leave Galway is the weekend of the England/Ireland Rugby thingee. John’ll be going to Dublin that weekend, I believe it’s the last one in March (or April?).

I recall Coldie stayed at an inexpensive hostel or something, which was centrally located. Anyone know the name of it? I’m thinking I’ll leave Galway around 3pm on a Friday and be Dublin by about 7 or so and meet for drinks out, then possibly meet up again on the Saturday night.

Anyone care to meet up?

Ok, so, which weekend. I have to put in a booking with the old man and book the hostel. Anyone have a number or email addy for it?

jjimm, I’m flexible. It can even be this weekend coming (one week from today) as long as it’s not the weekned of of the Ireland/England rugby match.

Let’s throw out some dates and see if any stick:

28 March
4 April
11th April (works well for me)
18 Friday (I have no work this day so but it’s Easter weekend)

I’d join you guys, but we aren’t going to be in or near Dublin on the weekends. I’ll be there Mar. 24-25, and Apr. 3-4. Leaving the morning of the 4th. :frowning:
I don’t know why we deciced to stay out of Dublin on the weekends, maybe next time I’m over?

I’m pretty sure we will stumble up to Dublin (on the bus) sometime, but I’m not sure when. Depends on how good the drinking is around Greystones and Wicklow (that’s where we’re staying).

ruadh is always going out of town for matches, so let’s see when/if she’s available that weekend.

I’m afraid there won’t be a good weekend for me between now and June, probably.

No (although they are), primarily it means I’m skint.

We’ll reevaluate in June and see if we can make it over to Dublin again in late June.

Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for the name of Coldy’s hostel.

Thanks, yojimbo, I think I’ll stay there or with friends in town. It’s just a bit odd with the in-laws as I don’t want to stay with them.

Anyway, I think April 11th (Friday) is the day I’ll arrive and I’ll leave on Sunday the 13th in the late afternoon, early evening.

Does that work with anyone else’s schedule. I’ll probably go out with John’s friends one of the nights, but it doesn’t matter which night.
